If you booked in a travel agents ie Thomas cook you would have been given the total price of the holiday with all the extras included in the first price, then given the option to remove things ie meals, transfers, 5kg luggage etc, not like the internet where they give you the base price then add all these bits in if you want them. So basically you were being a cheap skate you saw the first price and thought ooh i can save a few quid by removing the 5kg well the bad news is you're stuck with it cause Thomas cook make you choose your luggage allowance at the time of booking and will not let you alter it either way come hell or high water so think your going to have to practise packing your suitcase between now and then, or pay approx £10 per kilo overweight at the airport which will then have made the extra 5kg have looked cheap in the scheme of things.
Not everything is always the tour ops fault you cant win, in the beginning all these extras were inc in the price so you got people moaning i dont like the meals why should i pay for something i dont eat, i only travel light why should i pay for 20kgs when i dont want that much, i hire a car why should i pay for transfers i dont use get my drift. As i said before in the shop you get the price with everything included, then you have A CHOICE in or out.
Just a thought as its your honeymoon have you thought about upgrading to premium its fab, 30kg luggage, free drinks, better meals, own television, priority boarding extra legroom, well worth it in my opinion.

It seems a lot to me!

I managed on 20kgs for a 4 week tour of China - with the temperature differing between 32C in Shanghai and -4C at night in Chengde.

It's all about packing sensibly intead of opening your wardrobes and drawers and chucking everything in. ;)

Just a thought - is it 20kgs hold & 5kgs cabin allowance or is the 25kg hold only?

Did you sail from 1 of the uk ports as if you had flown you would have had a weight restriction of some sort, if you sail from the uk theres no restriction because there's no flight involved.
As for the cruise in january if you need more than 25kg each then your not planning or packing properly.

Upgrade to Premium, you'll have 30kg each. The best thing about it is that you have a designated check-in desk at the airport, so no mile-long queuing!

    Not very MSE though.
I can't even find any details on how much this would cost us. Has TC decided to hide as much info as possible?

Even if you had the extra 5kg FOC I bet you would still come back with more than 1/4 of your clothes unworn ;0)

Couldn't agreed more, you shouldn't need your duffle coat in Cuba!
