Good evening, everyone :D Thankfully Friday and it looks like there's cause for celebration! I'm grateful for it being Friday and can even forget the early start. I've had a productive day at work and the OH is happy as he got up early to wash the car (he wanted to do it last night but was thwarted by the rain - ack!). I've actually time to sit down and write all the stuff I meant to earlier this week now :D

Like yesterday, my train home was cancelled so I had to take the bus. Hmph, yet more outlay, I thought. Anyway, I got to the bus stop and the driver couldn't change the tenner I had on me. He was a nice driver. :) Many heartfelt thanks go out to him for the ride. :)

I went around the town market today. I looooove markets with a great big passion and have been talking constantly at work about how many bargains I get. I picked up a large bag of misshapen bacon, which is perfect because I tend to cut it into chunks for cooking rather than making sandwiches, for £1.60 - far better value than my local supermarket :D The best part was that it was 2 packs for £2, so I got two and opened one tonight to put some bits in my melee beans and stuck the rest in the freezer. I'll do the same with the rest tomorrow when I make a batch of meatballs for the freezer. :) AAAnyway, picked up lovely big bag of onions for £1, mushrooms for £1 and a box of lush strawbs for £1 too. My colleague went back at lunchtime - I went through on my way to work at 7:30am - and they'd sold out of the strawberries. Randomly, I just love how many people say "good morning" when you're walking through a market. :)

So, feeling very virtuous and money-saving-y, I'm going to treat myself now with a homemade smoothie (1 brown banana, five strawberries and a splash of fruit juice) and enjoy the evening :D

    *big enthusiastic hugs to all!*

Catowen, OMG that is an absolutely fantastic prize, congratulations!!! Something in the back of my head is suggesting that Harrods has a hotel - maybe you could use the vouchers to pay for your hotel? You might as well have a luxurious hotel room. Of course there's always Travelodge. Shame I don't live there any more (London that is, not Harrods!) or I'd have rented my sofa to you. BTW most of the museums around there are free, except for some special exhibitions. There's the Natural History, the V&A, the Science Museum... I think you should go to London and treat yourself, and don't go selling the vouchers - spoil yourself for once!!!!
