Yes, honest guv the TV aerial on my roof, and the Sky Dish on my chimney arnt for watching Telly, honest i just have them for decoration.
By the way, no TV is ever watched "Live", there is always a delay,so we could all claim "We dont watch live TV"0 -

Hmm I can see OP has really though this fairness thing through. It's fine for 7 adults sharing a household, four of whom could be wage earners, to pay for just one license between them, but not fine for a single student in his halls of residence to receive a young persons/single householder's/student or what-have-you discount.0 -

Erm - I am the original OP and don't recall mentioning either pensioners or students?0 -

There's always one.
It's as live as it's technically possible to be. Don't pretend you don't understand the intended meaning of "live" for the sake of being a pedant. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Did you notice I quoted from TighterThanTwoCoatsOfPain who was responding to my prior comment (at least I think he was)
But you can see the ambiguity by referring to the "OP"...."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Thanks for that. The article seems to clarify things. So, to return to the original question - if I only watch programmes on the computer without a receiver - no license is required. If I watch on a television set streamed from a computer and not in real time - no license is required. Whew!0
