Friend's neighbour using her address !!
Comments
-
Time to order a few pizzas from a call box and have them sent around to her place.
I'd just mark as return to sender also.0 -
I had a new contract phone & SIM delivered to someone else's address this week. It was just a delivery address, my bills will still come to my house as they always have. But there is always someone in at the other address to sign for it, and it's more hit and miss at my house. Obviously I asked them first though (how rude not to!) but I wouldn't worry about bills and things coming to their house until it actually happens. When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0

I believe credit rating is now (well for the last couple of years) attributed to the person NOT the address, so shouldn't affect your friend.
only thing i'd be sure to check is that the sim is actually in the neighbours name & not your friend's name!
i would also ring the phone company and tell them you want her details removed from any accounts/their database.0 -
I'd tell your friend to refuse any post that isnt her own.
NATA and RTS it all.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
Definitely mark as RTS, open the envelope and ring up quoting the account number, informing them of this attempted/possible fraud.
If I were the neighbour I would have left a note on my door saying "deliver to x..." so think she is on a scam.0 -

Exactly what I first thought when I read the OP. She might have just used it as a delivery address, but everyone's assumed she's on some sort of scam!! I too have anything mobile-phone related sent to an alternative address as I know I won't be in to sign for it if needed, doesn't mean that's where all my bills are going does it!
Calm down people, it could all be innocent and you're all assuming the worst.
All you know is that someone had something delivered to someone else house, have none of you ever done that before?
Yes the neighbour should have checked first if she could put the other's address, but if she was ordering and had to make a decision where to have it sent to there and then, she wouldn't have had the chance.
I wouldn't worry unless your friend starts receiving the monthly bills to her house, if so then she should contact the network to explain the person doesn't live at that address.0 -
Technically, if she did it without your friend's permission, it is fraud.
I would just get the friend have a chat with her and ask her why - then make it clear if she wants to do this in the future she must ask your friend first.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
Thanks everyone for all your replies, there have been further developments!
Called round to see my friend today and she showed me a bill and statement from Skye which again, had the neighbour's name on but addressed to my friend's house. Not a new Skye account as it had transaction history on it. Neighbour is hardly ever in btw, so confronting her with this is pretty difficult.
Any advice?'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

ring up skye and say this person doesnt live at your friends address and give them her real address and that you want no further letters off them
