Friend's neighbour using her address !!

If this is on the wrong board, please feel free to shift it.
Situation is this. My friend lives in a rented house and her immediate neighbour also rents. (Different landlords)
Anyway, a couple of days ago my friend's neighbour popped her head over the fence and said that she'd ordered a new sim card on a contract deal and had used my friend's address for delivery. The neighbour hadn't asked my friend's permission for this and friend is now understandably worried, as all furutre bills for this person will now be delivered to her house.
Can anybody tell me what the implications (if any) for my friend could be? I haven't a clue but it sounds very dodgy to me. She doesn't have t'internet so I said I'd do the post on here for her.
Thanks in advance!!

How cheeky is that!
Why use her friends address?? They come in an envelope which just goes through the letter box?
What did your friend say in response?
I'd be seething if that were me ~ at first I thought you meant a free sim card, but then I noticed it's a contract sim.
I'm sure though that a contract phone or sim has to be delivered to the address which is the same as for payment, ie the credit/debit card it was ordered with?
Smells fishy to me!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
'd suggest that when the card arrives, your friend opens the envelope (NB:i know this is illegal bu i'd feign ignorance and say that i didn't look at the name) and ring the phone company to inform them. The credit checks that are a part of taking out contract phones makes me wonder whether the neighbour has bad credit record and is usingthe other address to dupe the phone company. Is she/has she done this before? If she doesn't nip this in the bud then it could become a regular thing. x0

When it comes, I would just scrawl in big letters across the envelope, 'not known at this address' and shove it back in the post box.0

Thanks for all your replies. I think the sim has already arrived and been handed over to the neighbour.
One of the things that concerns me is, if the neighbour defaults on any bill payments, could this impact on my friend in any way? i.e. her address blacklisted etc.
I agree though, what a bl00dy cheek!'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

Maz, are you positive it was a contract sim??
Did it come concealed in an envelope, or was the sim card in packaging which screamed the network all over it?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

i dont think she would be able to get a contract sim at your friends address, as her name wouldnt be on the electrol list at that address. was it delived thru the letterbox or a signature required,i will be debt free, i will0

Well if she receives any future letters or mailings regarding her neighbour, I'd open it up and contact the company in questionTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
