I have those gold/brass coloured bathroom taps - don't know what they are actually made out of though (is it brass?) Anyway, they are manky, green etc and I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas how to get them clean. Can I use brasso? Thanks!0

be careful as they are brass " plated " ?? dont want to use anything too harsh on them
to rid them of the limescale , do a kim and aggie trick .fill small plastic bags with white vinegar and attach over the tap, securing with a rubber band
leave for a few hrs then it should come clean away0 -
What can I use on brass?0

Ketchup !
I think it's actually the vinegar in the ketchup that does the trick. And it is a bit of an expensive way of cleaning. I smear a tbsp or so all over my brass scales pan and it comes up lovely.0
