i went to view a berlingo that was at a crackin' price last weekend. teh salesman was supposed to phone me if it sold, travelled 60 miles and it was gone! to make matters worse i have now seen the very same car on autotrader being sold by another garage fo £800 more!!! obviiously the orice was good enough for a trader to buy it to sell on.
i am now considering a pug 407sw as i saw one in another garage we went to. so i'm test driving one of them tomorrow. we'll see how i get on with it but i really like the car. the credit crunch seems to be bringing the prices of these cars down to my level for a good car.The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -
407 SW a really nice looking car! Especially in white.
& Pug always DID make good estates - once you start looking into their design charecteristics & unconventional rear suspension layouts, you'll see what I mean.
But with 407, ist simply is NOT a good load carrier, even rear seat passengers are left feeling claustrophobic (spell).
& you're correct to say prices are dropping - a li'l bit earlier this year, 'cos it always seemed November the best time to buy.

i'm not after a load lugger, just something to comfortably carry my dogs in the back and tow a caravan.
i can get sloping fronted cages that allow for the rake of the rear screen and still allow ample room for the dogs.
i don't care about the rear seats as i never use them personally and rarely have anyone in the back. my partner was in the back during part of the test drive and she thought there was plenty space.
i put a deposit on a 407sw today. collect it on Thursday.
i love getting a new car!!!
if it wasn't for the doubt i have regarding my job i would probably have gone for the brand new berlingo. i just didn't want to take on that level of debt in the current climate. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0
