This is a brilliant thread idea - let's try to post some really creative ideas.
Last year we had just moved into our first house and had no decorations. My fiance bought a christmas tree the day before christmas eve so it was dead cheap. I found some fairy lights in a box (didn't even know I had them everything had been packed away for so long), made ginger bread circles and iced patterns on them, made red roses from crepe paper, and tied some pretty ribbon - the stuff that's stiffened with metal - into bows. The tree looked lovely and cost less than a tenner to buy and decorate.
Apart from that, we spent far too much money over Christmas 2007 on presents, food and booze.Debt at LBM (20th March 2008) £13,607
Debt currently [strike]£11,667[/strike] [strike]£11088[/strike] [strike]£10,681[/strike] [STRIKE]£10354 Hurrah 24% paid off[/STRIKE]
Oh dear ... back to £12944 9% paid off
Hurrah £10712 22% paid off0 -
I'm all done................(runs and hides:o)
(after xmas sales, pigsback, envirophone, topcashback, quidco, etc - money neutral 100%)
Got cash on asda card for food - put cash on for any savings made using vouchers currently stands at £102.17:D that is enough.
Get stacks of booze and chocs bought for me at xmas from my oldies so don't need to budget for them.
Bring it on:D0 -
Yeah, you'd better hide!!!!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

Well, I have £30 in Global Test MArket, £20 in Pigsback, £200 in Quidco, £19 in Boots points.
I also plan on being DEBT FREE by Christmas so will actually have some money to 'spend' rather than putting it on cards etc.
OMG, that is sooooo weird to think that by Christmas, I will be debt free....Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Well Sophiesmum you can just jolly well come and organise the rest of us poor lot then.
With just finding out about my OH's affair I don't know what I'm doing next week never mind Xmas.
I do have £100 in Co-op vouchers and £20 in Boots points and I did buy several pressies in the Jan sales.
Just have to save up for the Wii for the children.
Actually I'm doing ok really in the Xmas stakes, thanks guys you've put a smile on my very sad face.
