We have stayed on Emerald Island and Sunset lakes which are both gated complexes, I have some villa contact details if you want to PM me. Mostly british owned villas. Both of these areas are close to a shortcut into Disney which cuts off a lot of traffic issues.

If you look at the sites mentioned above there is a villa location map showing all the different complexes, this is useful to get your bearings of where they are in relation to Disney, dont just book a villa blind, as some of the complexes are a long way out, and the travelling time eats into your day.

I would be booking flights now though,we always booked our 9/12 months in advance when we went and got some good deals. Try Virgin Direct and Dial a flight, they will price match each other, and always barter!!!

The sites above an a huge source of info and invaluable, they have a forum, and honestly, if they cant answer a question the answer is not worth knowing!!!car hire, special trips, best tickets, front of line access etc.

I'm looking for a 2 week beach holiday July or august 2009 (during school holidays) for 2 adults and a 10 year old. We would ideally like to be half board and within easy walking distance of a good beach. Not really that fussed where we go, but trying to keep the price down. We've done the Sun Holidays for the last 4 years but desperate to go abroad next year. Any suggestions of where to go and who to book with to get the best deal.

AAAGh had it all planned to use tesco vouchers with siblu and car hire. The park we wanted in Spain (cambrils) is not taking tour operators any more and Avis has gone from Tesco too! Back to the drawing board.

I love this thread! We are a family of 6, ages of kids 6,4,9m and 9m (another one who also got bogof!).

I thought we were destined for the mobile home holidays forever, but am feeling happier after reading this! Seems that one day we may be able to holiday abroad again!!!!!!!!
Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞

Thanks, had looked at french life but couldnt see anything for Spain, but was getting a different home page to where your link has taken me so will have a look thanks. Although after discussing with DH last night we may abandon the plan and use the money we would have spent on flights to do disneyland instead in December/January and use tesco vouchers perhaps for airmiles/eurotunnel -need to look into it a bit more.

Skyauction has resorts you can rent but they tend to be full-up in the Summer

  • We are family of 6. I did look into Villa's in Spain. Rented by ex pats, very reasonable prices. It was the price of flights that put me off. But I was looking at middle 2 weeks in August. Always Camping, not tried that yet, showing great resistence, as I would rather stay at home.:D
    Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
    Grocery challenge july £300/£134-85.

canvas life is the camping / mobile home site part of frenchlife

when you go on the home page www.frenchlife.co.uk click on mobile homes & chalets and it goes to canvas life

Try Chrousso Village hotel and apartments in Halkidiki. Went there 2 years ago. Its all inclusive. Two adults and three children.
Also try Blue Bay Escape. St Spyridon. Corfu. Both are brilliant.

Both were booked with First Choice.
    Hope this helps.
