We are family of five , I have three boys all different ages. 6 years, 14 years and 17 years. I am student and my husband has a poor paid job, we can't afford a lot. I am wanting to take all of us on holiday this summer on my student loan which is not a lot. We have never been on holiday before, and are desperate to do so. I can push to £ 1,000 for us all but that's pushing it. Does anyone know where we can go ,need somewhere everyone is going to enjoy.0

We are a family of 5 and have visited Terralta Apartments in Benidorm a couple of times.
It's a lovely quiet resort with large 2 bed apartments and they can be booked direct with the by email although it might be a bit late now for this summer. Flights to Alicante are usually quite cheap and you can also book a coach transfer.
The resort itself is about a 20 min walk back from the old town in a quiet residential area with a large pool including a little kids paddling pool, a small play area, nice bar and restaurant. There is also nightly entertainment but it doesn't go on til late and it's all totally family friendly.0 -
Anyway.....back to finding a Summer holiday.....
So far, the best I have found are:
Majorca - Son Baulo TWO rooms. HB = £3200
Majorca - Coma Cran, ONE room, SC = £3740
Tenerife - Fiesta Oasis Paraiso, TWO rooms, HB = £3150
Tenerife - Villa Mandi, TWO rooms, SC = £3143
I haven't started finessing any prices yet, they are just taken off the Thomson web site. However, they are all FAR too expensive for me at the moment.
Will spent a little longer, and then look over at the Keycamp/Eurocamp prices....
Has anyone else booked anywhere for this Summer at a reasonable price?
Or is anyone looking?
Cheers,
Don
My family of 5 adults and 3 kids 13, 9 and 7 went away for 2 weeks last summer all inclusive to lanzarote for £1000 less than you have been quoted,
look on beaththebrochure.com and onthebeach.co.uk0 -
I've been reading this thread with great interest for a couple of reasons, because we are a family of five and because we have a static caravan (sleeps 6) that we reasonably hire out (non estate, private 1/2 acre garden within walking distance to beach and mountains - Snowdonia).
Firstly most of you want to go abroad and secondly your budgets amaze me........we certainly can't afford anywhere near the thousands some of you have quoted. We budget for around £300 per week for ALL of us as that's all we can afford without hitting plastic. But even self catering camping that's a hard task to find in the restricted school holidays.
So that being said, does anyone have any UK based tips for us? We are lucky enough to live in Snowdonia but it's good to change surroundings occasionally - we've not been away for 2 years ;(
Oh and if anyone wants details of our caravan.....which is not far from pub that does grub....just search Private Holiday Caravan for Hire, Snowdonia National Park on Facebook - we need some more Likersprices are set for our budget not what we could charge xxx

We're a family of 5 also but don't travel during the hiked-up july/august months - we usually pick up an easter break with Eurocamp (or similar) somewhere between 7-10 days for around £500 inc. ferry travel.0
