LOL!! flea - I meant Argos TENTS but blatently wrote threads!! sorry!!!
Lol even with a sharing of sleeping bag (we have a double!) i still end up freezing. the tent is quite big now so heat doesnt seem to stay in.
now i really see where you are going wrong, you should be sharing a single sleeping bag!
double ones allow drafts because you cant pull it tight around your head

do you think id be better in a single bag on my own than a double envelope one with OH?

Whereabouts do you live? I was at Barretts of !!!!enham in Worcestershire yesterday and they a decent display up. go Outdoors in Coventry always have a good display as well (apparently it is the biggest outdoors shop in the UK). But wherever you live there should be somewhere near.
EDIT: I didn't swear honest! It's Barretts of F e c k enham.
Just to update this post I have heard that Barretts Outdoor have now closed and another Camping Store has taken over 3 of Barretts outlets. !!!!enham, Measham and garforth. Camping Equipment and tents can still be purchased at these locations and if anything have expanded the range of products on display.0 -
If you go camping for a little bit of adventure and being at one with nature, you wont be dissapointed if you experience a little weathering especially in our British climate. If anything the weather should enhance your experience. Kids love the excitement and the cosy feeling of being under 'canvas' when it rains!
I have ben told that no tent is 100% waterproof and even new tents require a further treatment on the seams.
Some tents have a Double Skin which should reduce the leaking problem.0 -
Hi all. We have the pro action 10 man tent from Argos (340 0102) its half price at the mo...and find it much easier to have more room (being able to stand up is a bonus)than you usually need. There's usually only 2 of us but last time we had 4 adults and 3 kids. Have been to bike racing, family BBq's etc with this and although heavy for one person to carry it is fairly simple to put up and take down.
We also take 2 single sleeping bags and a double plus double airbed and couple of blankets, roll mats, no pillows as we use clothes or just use the one built in to airbed. 2 stoves is a must plus cooking equipment, pots n pans, torches (to hang in top of tent), waterproof matches, gas lantern, windbreak of some description etc etc.
Local Poundland had camping items last week but havent been this week so not sure if they still have them, they included...emergency blankets (pack of 2 i think), lanterns, mallets, roll mats, washing line can't think what else.PinkPunkBird

Hi all, we're first time campers this year. We went to Donnington last bank hol and it bucketed down very early one morning. Our tent didn't leak at all, which did surprise me! We bought the Pro Action Canberra 9 in Argos. There are only 4 of us but we have 2 teenagers, a girl and a boy. This tent gives them the privacy they need and no arguments over who's having what side either! They can both stash their stuff in their own rooms as well so we don't have to trip over it. Some sites want to charge us double though because of the size of the tent.0

I have just booked a camping holiday but am a bit worried that the voucher I printed wont be valid when I get there and I will have to pay the full price - could someone allay my fears? It looks as though I will have to buy the paper, I cant believe the campsite will accept a copy of the voucher.0

you are forgetting that camping is a pleasurable experience for the minimal of living. I had a chuckle to myself when I saw what peoples ideas of camping is and what they "need".. I have a one man lightwave tent, a backpack of essentials and good boots. I camp in the middle of no where. it costs me nothing.Only Linux make is possible!0
