Maybe it's time to move on then Sar, if they won't play, is there any point of the band?

But the thing is we play really well together and we all get on great. When we're good we're really good.. it's just at the mo we've not got any reason to work! We're just playing for fun with nothing to work towards.

To be fair I think the whole thing spooked them. I didn't tell them I was enquiring and then just sent a mass text saying we've been offered a,b,c on x,y,z... it was such a fab opportunity.. 2nd ina 4 band bill supporting a popular local act on a saturday night and could've potentially given us a fab start... but oh well. It's nice to dream.

What ever you do Sar don't stop dreaming! it will happen!!! Your just the girl to make sure it does

IA seriously it sounds a fantastic opportunity. Any chance you and maybe another member can work on the blokes to give them an ego boost?? The first gig will always be nerve racking no matter how prepared you are, plus 2nd means you will be on early people will be arriving, still sober and getting settled. In reality they are there to see the popular local band not you guys therefore most won't even be paying attention let alone care enough to laugh

I know Ste's not impressed. I just can't believe it's all kicked off like this. The one guitarist actually said, ''You'll be doing 3-piece set then'' when I was trying to talk him round. :( Yes, because we can obviously play our songs with vocals, drums and bass...

You never know if you back off a bit and leave them to think about it they may come round and see what a brilliant opportunity it is for them.

Hopefully they will come back apologising for their behaviour too.

OO i probably would of said no a 4 piece set, your not irreplaceable you know.

Sorry but why join a band if you are not happy to gig?? why not just play in his bedroom in front of the mirror and pretend he is a rock star

Anyway no point in you dwelling on their inadequacies but maybe you should consider your own position and what you personally want to achieve.

Maybe you should send another mass text saying: say yes now or forever play guitars on your own coz Sar's gonna take her ball (as in bass, drums & songs) home?!

And maybe ask if they know of any guitarists who they could recommend & who DO want to gig?!

I mean, it's 4 weeks off - and knowing you, you'll have rehearsals planned, so what's the problem with them?!

I would check the boards in your local music shops for new guitarists....
