Boatman thanks, the tyre-shopper web site is fantastic! Cheapest tyres I've seen anywhere.

In fact I'm almost tempted, for the extra £12 per tyre, to get a pair of Goodyears fitted (£80 the pair vs £56) but I don't think I'll bother given the age and mileage of the car. From a safety point of view I'm sure that all tyres sold must meet minimum standards to be insurance approved etc so I might just plump for the Tigars, unless anyone can convince me that a mid range or performance tyre will have some immense benefit for my 11 year old Corsa!

    Cheers

Just remember though, if you only get budget tyres, they wont last as long and you will have to replace them more often, which costs you more in the long run. You pay for what you get with tyres and the better quality ones are more expensive. you might be better going for a better quality tyre even if it costs just a little more, you will get your moneys worth.

It depends on how long you mean long. The budget tyres i buy last around 20/30k, where as Michellin ones were legal for up to 60k until i had to change them.
