New Tyres Required!

Hi all

My front tyres look as if they're nearly ready for renewing so I've been doing a bit of research on the net. Last time I got them done (rear 2) at Farmer AutoCare in Dunfermline they cost £58.70 for 2 x 165/70R 13 T. I've looked at all the major chains (ATS, National, Nationwide and Kwik Fit) and also blackcircles and can't seem to find any tyres any cheaper than this.

Although the tyres I got last time were only Budgets they perform pretty well so I'd be happy to replace with similar this time.

Anyone got any suggestions for lowering the price before I finally bite the bullet and order?

Thanks
Rich

They're the same size tyres as mine. If it was £58.70 for the two rather than each then that doesn't sound too bad.

You could order them direct from Mytyres - http://www.mytyres.co.uk/ then just pay for fitting at a local garage. Mytyres recommends local dealers too.

    Yes, for 2.

Price not bad, just wondered if I could beat it!

    Thanks

Just remember though, if you only get budget tyres, they wont last as long and you will have to replace them more often, which costs you more in the long run. You pay for what you get with tyres and the better quality ones are more expensive. you might be better going for a better quality tyre even if it costs just a little more, you will get your moneys worth.

Possibly. My car has done 208,000 miles. Budget tyres will last me, say 30,000 miles. I'd feel pretty stupid if my car suffered a terminal failure next week with four £100 each tyres on it rather than four for £100 ones.
  • Exactly what i figured - I'm not spending much on a car which cost less than £500 - I don't know if it will manage 30,000 (hope so though ;) )

Does that price include fitting? i really need a new tire on the front i reckon - better go and get it done soon.

    Thanks
