in march i was sat at traffic lights waiting for them to change before i proceeded into work, they did before i turned noticed out of the 3 lanes i was crossing 2 cars had stopped so lights there where on red so i turning and looking in dirction where i was going when bang a car hit me at god knows wot speed but i ended up across the road half on the pavement hitting a post so needless to say the car was a cat c write off
now the woman that hit me didnt even see me there where no skid marks indicating she had tryed to stop
so after a few months of the police investigating i get a letter thought great they prosecutin her
Wrong it was a offer of a driving course for me or if i refuse then it states i will be prosecuted
so i rand the investigation unit and theres no mistake or anything so i get put threw to a man who i was told could answer my questions wrong he wouldnt say anything apart from decide wether to take the course or if not they will start magistrates proceeding
no there were 3 witnesses all in cars going my way turing right all at sceen said other driver when threw on a red

If the course includes a session on spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation, I would definitely accept their offer!

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

From what I gather the OP had a green filter arrow light and the three lanes they had to cross to turn right has a red light, and some idiot zoomed through and smashed straight into them.

If there are witnesses on your side I would send a letter back to the police stating you drove fully within the law and have no intention of going to a driving course for criminals, and the other driver went through a red light causing the accident (point to any witness statements made to the police) and ask what they are going to do about the offender. As others have pointed out, make sure the letter uses clear English.

The question is probably best suited to the www.pepipoo.com forums though.

If some !!!!!! can get away with going through a red light and smashing into a car by simply going on a safe driving course, that is really annoying.

From the post above it is very difficult to decipher just what happened, presumably the Police were called to the scene, they would not normally threaten prosecution if the OP was not at fault, especially presumably after interviewing witnesses who were at the scene.

The thread title says it all
rta driving without due care and attention

You have a duty of care to make sure the junction is clear before you pull out, even when traffic light controlled, by your own admission you did not see the other car, the police are obviously putting some of the blame for the accident down to negligence on your part.

What an arrogant, offensive and condescending reply. What not restrict your posting in these forums to times when you have something helpful to contribute?
