Of course I have debt problems, do you think Im cruel enough to join here to gloat. Im managing it properly this year, we are all determined this time.
Even the kids realise this.
Or hangon, instead of scrimping and scraping, sitting in every night and all weekends and eating value crap from tescos, maybe Ill just phone them all up and offer 15%.
What do you think?
Hi Peka
Unfortunately the tone of your posts does come across as you joining here to gloat and/or judge. If you read your post above, the second paragraph implies that the people on this board haven't already done the 'scrimping and scraping, sitting in every night, eating value crap from tescos' etc, which is wrong.
The people who are using bankruptcy as a 'Get out of jail card free' have their own conscience to deal with. We don't judge whether someone should be allowed to go bankrupt or not, we simply offer advice and support through something which for most people is embarrassing, humiliating, painful and often the culmination of many years of suffering and stress.
We get defensive because on other boards bankrupts are called SCUM, told they should lose their homes, should be ashamed of themselves, and should live in penury.
And that is why people are getting upset with your posts.
I hope you manage to find your way out of your debt without having to resort to bankruptcy, but if it does end up being the only way we will offer support and assistance wherever we can.
God Bless

Grow up Peka.
That you don't realise the vast majority of people here take bankruptcy extremely seriously - in fact even considering BR is life changing for most of us - only shows you in a shallow light.
I understand you have your own problems or you wouldn't be here. But until you have really faced bankruptcy, please don't think that you are qualified to post an opinion on this thread.
Goading us who, for one reason or another, have decided that bankruptcy is probably the only option, helps no one. 99% of us already feel much worse about ourselves than you can get close to. An it's out of order to goad us 99% to get to the 1% who actually are taking the p1ss.
Please step back for now. Maybe post again tomorrow if you still feel the same way.BSC No 248

For the last time IM NOT ANTI BANKRUPTCY
Post again tomorrow maybe because, right now, you are just winding people up. And adding nothing to the argument.
I have made my point and will not be posting further on this topic.

Im gonna find that post I made advising someone that their only option was to go bankrupt, I dont see it as a get out of jail free card either. I think she was on a dmp that wouldnt have been paid off until she was an OAP, which was not good.

Peka, I didn't say you were anti-bankruptcy - I was just trying to explain to you why people were getting upset at the tone of some of your posts.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Everyone back to "normality"? Hope you're cool Angel
Just a quick one ... what do people(s) mean when they use the term "bump"? are people having a collective problem with the use of their "p" key?0 -
Hi Mr E,
'Bump' just means posting so as to send the thread to the top of the page - so when someone comes into the forum, it's near the top and is easy to find. People tend to do it if an important or urgent post is dropping out of sight and they feel that it needs to be brought to people's attention.
Hope that helps?Miggy

I am in favour though, if used appropriately. For instance, you may post late at night, in the depths of despair, only to have 25 other posts bury yours before most of us get online the next evening. That is a good reason for a bump.
Keeping this thread 'on the boil' is also a good reason for a bump.
So here we go..., BUMP!BSC No 248

Not sure if we have this thread over here on BR board but DFW bump this often so that newcomers new & old are aware of the possibility of `troll` issues.
They `bump` it along regularly to keep it in peoples minds. Perhaps it would work over here?
Pania`s words are so brilliant I could`nt better them myself so I copied as below.

Notice to newcomers re trolls.
Hi everybody.
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.
Kind wishes
P
