Ooh, that sounds good! I'm soaking some soybeans, but thats about my lot right now. When I get a pigsback voucher, I'll use it for the Waitrose pesto I'm addicted to, that'll help. Oh damn damn damn I *must* repot that basil plant/those basil plants, they're starting to wilt there's so many of them in there. And water the herbs I planted. Oops. Better go!
Oh yes, the addictive pesto! I've got loads of spinach thanks to Tesco offer so might try making some pesto-type stuff with that, should be able to freeze it in portions. Also going to attempt some spinach & ricotta pastry parcels. Masses of lentil curry on the go at the moment.. smells very spicy in here!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Morning all! Mm house still smelled of curry this morning! I made 8 portions, worked out at approx 15p each. Got some lovely green lentil & spinach stuff for lunch today, although in my moment of being pleased with myself for all that, I forgot to bring anything else.. so a quick visit to Tesco for an apple and a banana was in order - cost me 37p!! 22p for an apple! Still cheaper than the canteen at work who charge 50p per item of fruit I think... and £2 for curry, so what I have today would have been £3 there but cost me 56p (15p curry + 6p pitta bread + 37p fruit). Think I need to find a cheaper source of fruit though.. may check out the tins...
Weekend looks like being quiet, apart from my attempt at pastry things which could be messy! Will hopefully get out for a run at some point as I've been a bit lazy with that lately. Not quite sure where this week has gone - apart from playing rounders I've not done anything out of the ordinary.. still looking at various classes though am wondering if it might be best to wait till I get back from holiday as it seems a bit daft starting something then being off for two weeks.. or maybe I'm just making excuses...

Why don't you buy a bag of apples, would last you all week and a fraction of the cost if you spread it out over the week. same for bananas, buy the half ripe/half green ones and then you would have a weeks worth there as well.
Free fruit coming up soon, as blackberries will be ready for picking , yum! Any markets nearby?Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Morning Bob, how's you today? Well I usually do, but as I've got some at home thought I'd just pick up one of each for today... but then I bought the same ones as I usually do, had just never worked out how much they were each. Yep there is a market (near-ish to work) will have to check that out. Good advice from Weezl on her thread about dried fruit as well. MMm yep will have to head out into local woods once blackberry season starts, think the ones round my house might be a bit traffic fume-y.
Got to say all this thinking about food is making me hungry all the time :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Mm more food talk! Got some free fruit this afternoon - we had our annual talk from the 'big boss' and they surprised us by supplying strawberries and cream for everyone.. and Pimms! So that was a nice start to the weekend, though would have been even nicer to carry it on sitting outside a bar somewhere... sadly nobody else was up for that, so have come home and stuffed my face, and now having one of the lagers out of the fridge and feeling a bit sorry for myself
Oh well, some good things.. £30 M&S vouchers from iPoints arrived so can do some 'free' shopping with them tomorrow. Have downloaded last weeks Doctor Who to watch as I missed it.. in preparation for tomorrow's big finale. Emailed a local 'urban food growing' group to see if they need any volunteers, apparently they have a few allotments, and also do fruit harvesting in the autumn from otherwise neglected trees, and then distribute the fruit to community groups etc.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Of course, I'm sure I could post you someWhat's the allotment list like round your way? Apparently it's a couple of years wait for some of the sites near me!
Well, last week's Doctor Who hasn't cheered me up much - no more David Tennant!:(Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Good morning all.. had a bit of a lie in today, woke up at 6, dozed off again and next thing I new it was 10am! Weird dreams though.. does anyone else find that happens if you sleep in later in the morning?
Need to run round with the hoover, but other than that no real plans for the day. Waiting for a few things in the post (including my new glasses) so not going in the shower until the postman arrives - I know if I get in the buzzer will go! Pouring outside anyway so not in any rush to go anywhere.. if it clears up later I might go and spend my vouchers.
Hmmm, may as well do a few surveys while I'm lazing about.. yaaawn...Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
