DH texted earlier to say he has been invited to the Bon Jovi concert on Friday night by one of the investment companies - so he gets a free ticket the jammie so and so.

Gosh - it's taken me 10 whole minutes to log into the site today...dunno whether it's my laptop, my connection or the forums
I do know it's blooming irritating though!
Haven't read the thread for a few days - I have done some flying though and house isn't looking too bad, I've been bribing myself - if I get up at 6.15am, and don't draw breath until I walk out of the door to go to work I am allowed to read and cross stitch in the afternoon when I get back from the office. Working well so far. House is clean (ish), most rooms (not DD2 or DS2 :rolleyes: rooms) are tidy, just haven't been on line a lot.
Hex2 - Thank you SO much for the book, I know I shall enjoy it, and the fact that it is an old Penguin Classic is icing on the cake. I have quite a collection of these and love them. There is just something about an old book that has been loved and read by others that I find irresistible. I also have a collection of mugs that are copies of old penguin book covers. I use them every day - breakfast tea from "Pride and Prejudice", morning coffee from "Jane Eyre" and afternoon tea from "The body in the Library" - love it!
No time to read through the thread so hope everyone is OK - have to get dinner early tonight but this will need careful timing as DS2 will be home late from school because it is auditions for this years Christmas musical at school (they did Guys and Dolls last year and it was fantastic) and DH is going out, so needs to eat early.
Have been trying to get to griips with facebook but feel as if I'm failing dismally - I have managed to add a few friends but haven't got a clue what to do with it now.....and how do I find people on there that are on here? I've managed a few who had facebook names I recognised but that's about it.

Hopeless cook, make sure you wear shoes/slippers in the kitchen until you've vacuumed another couple of times, just incase! Yes sorting the cupboards might be a good 'preventative' measure!
Shell hope your DD had a wonderful birthday and well done!!!I don't care who you blame, it's a really brave decision but you know it's for the best. Don't forget to let tax credits know as it might go up, sure when my friend stopped work (part time) she was only £14 worse off as her TCs increased, wasn't actually worth the petrol and parking.
Davgirl hope the water thing is sorted soon.
Argh all this ebay talk has reminded me my pile I needed to post are on the ledge, bums, never buy from me I am useless!
Assignments done as much as I am doing, due in tonight so waiting for DP to get back from his friends so I can take it. I then need to see what's involved for the next one, I have a feeling it's due in in 2 weeks (doing 2 courses) I must the programmes onto another PC as I end up cooking in the conservatory, what a bad idea putting the desk in there but nowhere else for it really.
Sports day was on because the forecast was bad for tomorrow and was showers, so they decided to go for it, it really rained heavy just before it started but stayed dry after that. DS2 isn't the athletic type but did come first in a race, they had to put water into a bucket with a team via transporting in a plantpot, his team went slow and steady and won! The others said it was his idea as it gets more water in, he's a very practical thinking child, brain definately over speed there. He's absolutely thrilled and I cried (he's never had a first, or any other place, sticker before)
Suppose I should feed the children before they start eating each other. One day I might be more organised...........

Hi all
What a terrible day since DH came home from camp. They won't pay his wages into the bank, he is getting a cheque sent to him here! So we now have to phone all the companies, explain whats happened, and ask them not to take their money till the middle of the month! That should at least give us time to get it sent home and payed into the bank for us.
So DH asked about all the money they owe him. How long will it take for it to get paid into the bank? They just said it takes as long as it takes. So am furious that we are being put in this position. I just hope that all our bill people are understanding and agree to wait for their money!
Oh yes, the harrassment officer is coming in on friday to interview DH, it would be great if they agreed with DH because that would mean his discharge would be cancelled, but not even hoping for it. The way the regiment has been, I have a bad feeling about things just now.
Just wishing I knew how to get enough money into the bank to cover all of our expenses, get us home and sort everything out when we get there. Have felt today that itis getting to be too much to take and just want to curl up and give up, I am at the stage that they have won and i just want to get away from the regiment. I hate it here and wish I had never come to here.
Ok rant over, have to go sort out school uniform for tomorrow
See you all later, and thanks for all the encouragement, i do appreciate it, even if it doesnt sound like it right now.

Well hello you lot. Thought I'd slink in to report that over the last 2 days I have got as far as printing off the Fly lists, doing a bit of washing and that's it.
So germish if your reading have you managed more than me?;)
But, in my defence I have been at work the last 2 days plus yesterday was really rubbish cos the exhaust fell off my car. So I allowed myself to wallow all afternoon in a pit of self pity. With everything else that has gone on latley it was well deserved believe me.
Right off to do tea, then get DD b&b'd and then I might be really rebellious and retire to the tranquility of my bedroom for the rest of the evening for some me time.
I wish this week would hurry up and end been doing this all week :wall:0
