I straight away thought of Santorini (Greek islands)

We visited for the first time last year and going back in September. Have stayed on a lot of the Greek Islands but there is something just wonderful about Santorini.

I am pretty sure they do a lot of weddings at sunset as that is stunning.

Whatever you decide Aimee have a wonderful time organising it all.

    Hugs,

a good way of deciding is looking at how much is involved in getting married. eg some countries require all documnets to be translated into their language, then legalised etc which can add quite a bit of money to the overall cost of the wedding. how many people will you invite? is there anywhere you have been before that you would like to get married?

Very good post...I hadn't thought of that. I fancy going somewhere in the med (mainly as it's fairly close) but apart from a med cruise earlier on in the year, have never been apart from Greece. I really didn't like Greece so not in a hurry to go back. There should be 8 people excluding us.

I second Santorini...Just returned we go every year at least once and quite a few wedding were going on there. Santo Winery seems to be a popular choice for the service
Santorini isnt like many other greek island there alot of very up market hotels expecialy in Oia and Imerovigli
Friday we counted 9 private jets flying in for top notch weddings
    this might help http://gogreece.about.com/cs/marriageingreece/a/marrysantorini.htm

another option would be a crusie wedding? no or little flying involved and P&0 have now started to do them as wel as some of the big American cruise lines
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

For those that aren't religeous, wouldn't it be cheaper to go down the registry office first in the UK and then have a ceremony abroad.

    Congratulations!
I have just been to a wedding in Italy in Umbria. It was amazing. Food, weather, hotel, flowers, dancing etc etc I had wondered why my cousin (who's Irish) was marrying someone else Irish in Italy but now I know why - because it was great! They used a wedding planner weddingsinumbria.com I think. We flew to Rome from Luton return for about £70 so not so expensive for guests too..

Hi, my son is getting married in Santo Winery, Santorini in one months' time. If you can wait I will give you my opinion when I return at the end of July. If you google Santo Winery weddings it shows some wedding videos and looks gorgeous.

For Malta have a look at:

    http://www.maltadirect.com/weddings.asp
    http://www.maltaweddings.co.uk/

Air Malta fly to Malta from Birmingham every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Off peak its from £79 return. http://www.airmalta.com/timetable

Plus there are two charter flights on Tuesdays operated for travel agents. (Air Malta and Thomas Cook).

Anyway, hope wherever you choose, you have a wonderful day! :A
