We are getting married abroad next summer but haven't got a clue where. We do have a few requirements; Somewhere in the med (fairly short plane ride) and definitely not a lot of children there. Can anyone give me any ideas or inspiration please?
Edit: Please move this to weddings if it would be better there.

have you thought of cyprus?
it's quite popular for weddings as you are pretty much guranteed the weather. i stayed just outside ayia napa last year at the olympic lagoon resort and there were 6 weddings the in the week we there there, it was gorgeous, there are also loads of other nice hotels around that area. when exactly are you thinking of going? if it's outside of the school holidays there shouldnt be too many kids there, also thomson gold have some hotels that are adult onlyThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

Perhaps somewhere with a good number of flights from Birmingham airport so the guests can get there easily.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I'm a teacher so it would be in the summer holiday. I'm not too keen on Cyprus. Not really sure why.
Thanks for the help

Have you thought about Las Vegas? I'm doing the deed there in a coupla weeks aside from the cost of flights and accommodation the ceremeony inc limo, photos, flower cost £150 at the Chapel of Flowers so fairly reasonable if you can get a package deal on the flights and accomm. Personally, I can't wait:jRemember ....its not a bargain unless you need it

July/august is busy in most of europe. Are you doing it yourself or with a wedding planner?
Barcelona?
Paris?
Both flyfrom bham
Rome (don't try to do this yourself)
Guessing ease (and price for) your guests to get to may be a priority?
Are they going to be prepared to pay and how much (put yourself in their shoes)0 -

Thanks for the replies. All fab ideas. I will definitely look at Malta. I thought about doing it through Thomas Cook. Not sure about cost...they are fine to stay in hotels of their choice (they say

a good way of deciding is looking at how much is involved in getting married. eg some countries require all documnets to be translated into their language, then legalised etc which can add quite a bit of money to the overall cost of the wedding. how many people will you invite? is there anywhere you have been before that you would like to get married?'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
