Look at the bidding history on this item and look at the bid retractions, I'm the high bidder at the moment.

How can you bid incorrectly twice within 2 minutes?

Definitely - bidder 1 is a shill bidder.
Options if you don't want to pay the price you've been forced up to:
1. use a rogue account to outbid yourself
2. withdraw your bid ( but they might complain - if they do report them for shill bidding!)
Edit:
Bidder 1 appears to have bid on all the same items the seller is selling too!
Strange they want baby wear and a wardrobe and settees!!
You could just report them for shill bidding"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I don't have another account and i can't retract my bid because there are less than 12 hours to go.
I'm not gonna pay that much if I win....of course I have the cash for them otherwise I would never have bid that much, but I'm not gonna be taken for a fool.
If I do win, I'll tell the seller I'm not gonna pay that price and suggest they offer the wardrobes to Bidder 1.
It's suprising though because I thought shill bidders were normally new users, or users with low FB, just goes to show hey!
Can I ask how you know that they have bid on the sellers other items? I can't see anywhere where it gives the Id you see
EDIT : found it! 7 items from the same seller and no bids to any other sellers.

Click on the bidder 1 and it shows the categories that the person is bidding on - exactly the same categories the seller is selling items in. (some items have literally just completed)
Obviously if it was all babywear, you could reasonably expect that, but the 3 rather random categories that all coinciide with what the seller is selling in - too much of a coincidence (esp. with the retracted bids you start out with)
Edit: also the fact it all says Seller 1 means it's definitely all the same seller"Now to trolling as a concept. .... It's a bit of a guess, but a heck of a coincidince too!

That's it, I definitely won't be buying from them if I win, but no doubt they will have some excuse to cover it
Thanks for your help Premier!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I certainly wouldn't be paying. Yo need to look at their other completed items and look for:-
30-Day SummaryTotal bids:20Items bid on:
7Bid activity (%) with this seller:
100%
Bids to unique sellers:
1
Bids in unique categories:
4
Bid retractions:
2Bid retractions (6 months):
3
You will see these stats appearing on quite a few items. Just email them and tell them that you are willing to pay £xx and you might not report them to ebay.0 -

I couldn't do that, the wardrobes are for collection only so I wouldn't want to go and have to face the guy! :rotfl:
I'll tell him why I'm not going to pay and suggest they offer them to the under bidder, which of course, they won't :rolleyes:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Actually, I may be wrong here - but only if your bid is actually more than £60
If it is more than £60, perhaps the bidder just changed their mind but they do seem to be bidding on the sellers other items!
If your bid is less than £58 they are definite shill bidding
Edit: just saw your post on the bird avery - I knew my initial gut instinct was right. Definite shill bidding. Whats the chances of 1 person wanting that variety of items?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Definitely suspect!
I wouldn't even deal with them. Period! If they're that dodgy at selling, heaven knows what state the goods are going to be in when you arrive to collect them. Especially if you threaten them, it might just arrive 'damaged in post'. And you have to see him face to face to collect!
No, I would refuse to pay, and report them.A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -

My bid on the wardrobes is £57.67, so it's obvious they were trying to get just under my bid to bump it up, so I'd still be the top bidder.
They have got less than an hour to go, but I won't tell the seller for another couple of hours as I have stuff ending soon ~ don't want him to auction wreck me if he goes off on one because I won't pay! :cool:Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
check out these items :
150258552260 - nike baby trainers uk size 2 - won by lakeaura on 20th June at 7.00 pm.
The same item is being sold again by the seller, as he/she obviously won their own item.
Lakeaura co-incidentally has the same colur star as the bogus bidder on the wardrobes.
Lakeaura happens to be registered in merseyside, as it the seller.
The same bidder appears to have bid on this item as well 150260368588
I would contact the seller and tell them that I am reporting them for shill bidding. And I would not pay.Karma is a wonderful thing.0
