Hey, Seems a weird one but try ebay. They sometimes put tickets on there if they can not make the holidays. Also I found some villas in Egypt for £200 for the week and it beds 6 so if you can get friends to go too i worked out it's like £40 per person per week.

    Good Luck

Had a look at Girona accomodation, far too expensive :( I think I might just have to give up!
Following all the v helpful advice (thanks all!) I've actually found this website where you can search for very cheap holidays...there were even some under £100, but they are at very short notice. Whether or not they will still be that cheap in August I dont know but I'm willing to travel anywhere at the drop of a hat and luckily my daughter is a very good traveller having been well-trained from an early age....anyway, I'll stop rambling and give you that website address!

    Hiya
These apartments http://www.apartmentshurghada.co.uk look really nice and furnished to a luxurious standard from only £125.00 a week which is a bargain considering Egypt is really really cheap - we went out in 2004 and a 3 course meal for 4 with drinks was only £38.00!! Also, can buy a huge steak (t-Bone) for about £5.00. We couldn't believe how cheap it was and are going back next year.

You may pay a little more on the flights, but compared to Europe your overall holiday will be much much less
  • Hi please note that DP2 is still a building site.

    Try www.skyscanner.net
put in your airport choice and the month- then the cheapest flights to anywhere come up
also Wizzair-currently have flights going to Sophia-Bulgaria for 28July £46.71-coming back £55.58 from London or Bourgas- the seaside- going in July £73 coming back 1August 63.56- september flights are cheap too-( I got a return in September under £60 quid) as is the accomdation- I do know a guest house that charges £13 a night for a room, but it is a coach ride away. Wizz do charge for baggage £6 per bg-so travel light- take one case for all.
I have an apartment in Altinkum near Bodrum- that sleeps 4-any date available for £100 for the week- but flights currently £170 return approx for July- same for August & September- I do know that first choice and the like drop the 2 week period end of August first week of Sept-cos most people want to get the kids back in school-

I've just booked a week in Luxor for me, my daughter and grandson for well under £600. I'm very chuffed as it's a 4 star hotel too. Oh and the price quoted on the website was what we paid, no surcharges, not even for in flight meals. Brill

Hi my other half has a small cottage in Brittany that he doesnt usually rent out but if you're interested I'm sure he could rent it to you cheap. It sleeps four, one double bed and two singles. there's also a bed settee downstairs so you could squeeze in six. There's a nice quiet garden but no pool etc. You'd still have to arrnage for ferry and transport on top though.
