Anyone find REALLY cheap holidays, or got a holiday property for rent?

Hope someone out there can help me
I'm strapped 4 cash, in an IVA - just about managing so far - but would love to be able to afford a holiday this year. By being very frugal we've managed to put a bit of cash aside and I wondered if anyone knew of any websites where I could find a genuinely cheap holiday - abroad or UK? Many deals seem cheap to start with but once you've added all the extras on they're out of reach...:embarasse
It has to be in school hols in August as we have to take a child. Would love to hear from anyone who's recently found a real bargain - or has aholiday property to rent!
Thanks all - happy bargain hunting!

Hi booked a hotel recently for £8 a night at Tropicana Rosetta b n b in Egypt. I booked flights in Jan for 2 weeks Oct to Sharm with Easyjet for £100 each return. The flights need to be booked as early as possible to get the cheapest prices. I have a 1 bed apartment in Sharm.0

I'm looking for something too, anywhere at all really for two people last two weeks in August/first two in Sept or any combination. Having no luck
when I phone the companies and say I want to go anywhere for as cheap as possible they always get very snippy with me :S Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
When I rent out my apartment it will be in the region of £200 per week and sleeps 4. It will have fully fitted kitchen with large fridge / freezer, oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, air con, plasma tv etc. Ground floor with small private garden and the pool is right in front.0

I don't understand why you are having no luck. There are stacks of websites out there - what have you found already? Do school holiday dates differ in Scotland as obviously prices drop when the kids have gone back to school.
What is your budget? Have you thought about arranging a holiday independently?0 -
Because basicly, I can't afford it

I can only go on holiday between 16th August and 13th September and everything I am finding is around £500 min. I need something at £300 ish. Yea school holiday dates are different here but that makes no difference to the prices of holidays, any UK sites will bear in mind both Scottish and English holidays.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Drea - can you not go for a week instead of two? (bearing in mind that might halve your spending money too?)0

Thats why I started this thread - I've also got around £300 to spend, want a week or even a Monday - Friday break - just want to get away and would love to be able to find a bit of sunshine. Got time off work from 11th - 26th August...0

I am looking to go for just a week. Was just meaning that's the dates that I could have off work.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

Mind you, if anyone happens to find two weeks for £300, i won't complain

I have booked a camp-site and will be getting a tent, yer I know not the summer sun I was after... But what I have decided is I would rather spend the money I do have on having a nice holiday without paying over the odds.We are going camping so everybody has had a holiday of sorts and our left over money will be spent on something nicer when we can find a cheaper time, maybe xmas or easter or failing all that I will take the kids out of school in late june. It really annoys me that school holidays are such a rip off with 5 kids and dh and I all in school its a nightmare!
Good luck I searched and search for weeks and found nothing thats was good enough for my cash, have you looked ta travel lodge.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0
