A quick question for the Next staff - what's the difference between 8S and 8P? It seems that both are shorter lengths?

Can I just say DO NOT phone the store please, the stores are very busy at this time and their is no need, they will be more than happy to refund the money back to your card, it happens all the time during sale time and you can do it at any store so don't worry.
As for the fm asking about working in the stockroom, it's fairly simple you would either be sorting stock out or doing replenishment (walking around picking items the scanner tells you to).0 -

i have asked this q before, but will try again- does anyone work in the stock room in next stores????????? i would love to give this a try but not worked in retail before, is there anything special needed to apply for this post, thanks in advance,
I worked for Next for just under 2 years whilst I was at college (I left just under 4 years ago now).
My main job was replen (replenishment) which involved walking around the stockroom picking out the sizes/items that had been bought within the last half an hour and then taking it out onto the shop floor to put it onto the rails. This was originally done with good old pen and paper (printed reports generated automatically), until they brought in the handheld scanners and it went electronic.
But anyway, I also did overtime on the shopfloor and in the stockroom. I'd say the stockroom work can be tedious at times but it's easy work to be honest. There's the odd one or two heavy boxes to lift etc but nothing major.
Most of the work just involves taking out the new stock from the boxes and hanging it on the rails in the stockroom etc. There can be other things to do too which aren't so repetitive but around the time of the sales it's mostly tagging and sorting out the sale stock.
The store where I worked got quite cramped in the stock room when it came to the sales, despite the stock room being on four floors (store is on 2), purely because of the amount of stock that has to be prepared in advance.
On the day of the sales it was always great being able to go back into the stock room. The big air conditioning units out the back were a welcome relief from the actual store which felt like a sauna at times!
I wouldn't say there's any experience needed. Working at Next was my very first job. Most of the people working part time were similar to myself, either at college or uni. But, there were a few that worked at Next as a second job. There was a pretty wide range of ages too, so I'd say there wasn't anyone that ever felt out of place.
If it's something you wanted to do then I'd recommend sending your CV along with a covering letter etc to your local store. Not sure if all stores are the same but where I worked certainly kept CVs in a folder to go through whenever vacancies arose.
I actually miss working there at times, mostly because of the people I worked with but the job itself wasn't all that bad either.0 -
