OS Daily Sunday 22nd June 08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

It looks to be sunny today, which is a great improvement on yesterday. I spent the whole of yesterday playing with the mini digger in the rain and it was not nice. But I did get a huge pile of work done. Not only did I clear up the crash site, but leveled a corner of the garden where the waste had been piled for centuries. Now I have an extra 50 square meters of garden. OH said it was a nice place to put a summer house..... hmmmm

Off to Lodon tonight on the overnight train. Not a journey I am looking forward to... You get dumped out at Reading at 4am and then have to wait for the Heathrow train. At least it should be reasonably warm. I have done this in winter and it's miserable.

I have more baby chicks hatch out, 7 so far and more to come throughout the day I hope. The first batch are a month old today and look huge compared to the new ones.

Well folks have a nice day

Cheers

Mornng N9aev and all who follow - hope you're not too knickered tomorow to enjoy your trip to the big city.

Well today is going to be a day for Serious Words with Mr Caringsharing as he has been here for most of the Daddy Weekend. I've got a horrid feeling that his gf has given up on dd(11) and has decided that she's not welcome in her house.

The house is a tip from the Football Party last night so will sort that out and then do some shopping for the week.

    Morning all,

N9eav, hope you are feeling a bit better now - take a flask of something hot for your 4am stop-off....
SOMO1, glad your head is clear, lol!
Stef, know exactly what you mean - my exOH informed DD's he is going back to [STRIKE]she-devil [/STRIKE]wife again, having left 2 months ago. There go my newly rediscovered free alternate weekends... thank heavens for my mum!!! But none of it does any of the kids any good - definitely sounds like time to put your foot down.

((((((smokey, candygirl, penpin, dogrose))))))) and I've not intentionally forgotten people, just still catching up on last week but hugs to all those needing them.

Got some cheap vacu-bags in Dunelm yesterday (in fact might go back for more this morning) so am going to be sorting my clothes out (most of which I've got too dumpling-like to wear) to store for a while & digging out the weightwatchers booklets as I SERIOUSLY need to do something... Must also get back into going to gym. Did aqua-aerobics in the outdoor pool at Grayshott which was much nicer than it sounds :) so feeling inspired at the moment.

    Have a good day all.
    xx

Bought a new kitchen bin yesterday, one that you push down to open and the same to close. It won't close now  That will have to go back today, but thats a job for DH while I get on with the pile of ironing.

Roast chicken for dinner and then between myself, DH and DSs we must manouvre my old fridge freezer into the garage to make room for my new all singing and all dancing one that is being delivered tomorrow :j

Community policeman coming round some time today to discuss problem with neighbour we had yesterday. Apart from that will settle down later to watch yet more footie!!! Thank goodness Wimbledon starts tomorrow, at least that will take over after the footie finishes next week.

Hugs to all and have a good day - byeee

    Good morning everyone,

Going to be a lazy day here today - have taken out some sliced chicken in gravy for Sunday lunch, ive also got some roast potatoes that ive frozen to use, so a nice easy roast today.

Will be doing some cleaning (Sunday is the day i do upstairs) and hopefully some gardening too, have some carrot and beetroot seedlings in the kitchen i want to plant out - hopefully next doors cats will stay away from them this time, they dug up my last lot using it as a toilet, so ive been putting orange peel down, and spraying them with the childrens water gun when i see them in my garden!!!

Will also be having my weekly weigh in, havnt lost anything the last 2 weeks, so hopefully will be a bit more successfull this week!

Smokey - that holiday looks lovely, i hope you book it for you and the children xx

    Good Morning All

Mixed weather here today, sun in and out but some black clouds hanging about. Hopefully it will stay dry as we are off to the Blackwater Country Show, really looking forward to it as had horrible night with work friday night and was at a football tournemont with ds in the drizzly rain yesterday.

No idea whats for dinner as the menu plan has gone completely out of the window, will get back on track tomorrow.

(((hugs))) to all and enjoy your Sunday.

    Morning folks,

Wet and windy here at the moment, I want to cut the grass later if it clears up.

Ironing done, just have a mound of socks to pair up, I swear the washing machine makes socks and then the duvet eats them!!

Going to hoover round in a bit.

If I cannot cut the grass then I guess I will just have to watch the Grand Prix and go for a wander round the local garden centre and look at the plants.

    Have a good day

    morning all,
weird weather here.....ive been up since 5am and it keeps changing from bright blue sky to black, raining and windy!!! dont think i'll be going out today.

nice easy day foodwise as i made a veggie soup yesterday so that will be lunch and the children are having leftovers from mine and hubbys tea last night for theirs and dh has said hes cooking a new recipie tonight so i dont have to do that! also used some raspberries and strawberries from the allotment to make fruit jellies for deserts.

already done all my ironing, some tidying and cleaning.....dh got home from nightshift at 7.30 and has gone to bed for day so im going to have a lovely lazy day i think.....well as lazy as poss with a 5yo and 3yo!

    Morning all

    Hugs to all in need.

Had a lovely day yesterday strawberry picking and playing at a local abbey with DD's, was very relaxing, we then pushed the boat out and had a chinese for dinner.....think it was the first one we've had this year and very nice it was too.

Went to Canterbury yesterday morning to try and find bridesmaid shoes for DD's who are being bridesmaids for my friend in August - nearly everywhere had sold out or had really low stocks of kids wedding shoes.......when we asked the manager of Debebhams why they don't have them we were told "people tend to plan months in advance and not leave it until the last minute".....I can understand adults buying shoes in advance but kids??? They can change shoe size in a weekend!! Wasn't impressed. Went to the nearest cheapy shoe shop for some flipflops that I needed and there on the back display were the prettiest little silver ballet shoes, all lovely and soft and £6.99 a pair!! They fitted both DD's a dream so job done :T

Off to my parents for lunch today, going to go via wilkinsons for some home brew bits and bobs, DH has decided that it's time we had a crack at wine making and our first batch will be from the strawberries we picked yesterday. We also picked cherries and he's already got them steeped in rum and sugar......he normally makes a few different flavoured rums each year and they are lovely.

Hope you all have a great Sunday.
