  • Just a quick question regarding RE:

I have accepted an assignment for a sandwich shop for tomorrow. In the assignment notes it says that the job should be carried out Monday-Wednesday between 7.30-9.30.

The only date I was able to choose however was 8/8, which is a Friday. On the page before you click after visiting location (stage 4), the visit times detailed are 7.30-9.30 OR 12.00-14.00.

Do you think I will be OK if I visit tomorrow between 12-14?

The best thing would of course be to call them, but I doubt there will be anyone in the office now, and I am booked back to back with assignments tomorrow. My guess though is that the assignment notes are more general, and that the information for each specific assignment overrides the job notes.

    Thanks

Perhaps the assignment was released by someone else and they needed it doing asap without changing the original dates/times?

I would try and contact RE - they have rung me pretty late! I'm not susprised to here of the inconsistency though!

I would go with what is specific to your assignment and not the general gumpf, and with what the system lets you enter!

    Hi everyone

I start my first mystery shopping assignment on monday so I have been sorting out my tax and NI. I was wondering how I work out my expected earnings for 08/09?...I have no idea who much I will earn as I have never done this before. I also work 16 hours a week and claim child tax credit (my partner works 32 hours.)

Sorry if this is a daft question I just want to make sure that I do this correctly.
    Thanks Peridot.

Timmne! Calling Timmne! He is our resident accountant extrordinaire!

Personally, I too get tax credits and DH works full time. Have you contacted the tax office and declared yourself self-employed? You have three months once you start to do this - I would use you first months total as a base for an approximation of yearly earnings. When you ring the tax office they can send you a 'pack' to help make head and tale of these things. You must tell the child tax credit office too, that you will have an additional income - personally this has not effected my tax credit award.
  • Thanks for the super quick replies!

I tried calling, but just got the answering machine advising me to call during office hours.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that the information regarding each specific job should override the assignment notes - or was it the other way around? :o It sounds likely though that the details specific to the assignment should be adhered to.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
After appalling service in a burger 'restaurant' today I was approached by a member of staff, clearly sent by the manager who said, 'My boss is a little concerned. Because you asked for a receipt and had to wait a long time for your food he wonders if you're from G********. It's just we get mystery shopped by them'.

I quickly said something about expenses covering it BUT I wished I'd invited the manager over and asked him his price to make a top notch report to appear in place of what's about to! What did they expect to gain from all that?!
