Don't forget you only need to buy Vista upgrade, since you can install Vista then 'upgrade' itself to the full edition. Google for the procedure.

    As be_alright says.

OEM is generally about half the price of an upgrade anyway. So long as you fulfil the conditions and it meets your requirements I wholeheartedly support the idea of using OEM installs if you can. At least it's completely legal (if using properly). I'm using an OEM XP Pro right now. Much cheaper and I've upgraded my PC many times and if I need to call MS to reactivate I simply tell them what I've done and so far they've yet to decline me a reactivation. When I next upgrade it'll essentially be the entire system so if I decide to build it rather than buy a system outright I'll definitely be getting an OEM Vista (or Windows 7 depending on how long it takes for me to save up ;)).

....My ex once had an with Windows tech support. She had swapped a motherboard over for a customer, only to find their (OEM) license was no longer valid. It took a serious argument for them to accept it was the same PC!

And people are asking me why I don't sell computers with Windows....

It's off-topic I know, but I'd like to know more about you selling non-Windows computers. I'd say many people would be interested.
