I like to keep everything perfect.
Ooh good so do u think u will try to return yours too. U could use my situation as an example (as I take it you didnt buy it from Amazon?). I kick myself for getting rid of the box, I usually keep them too, mainly incase I come to sell it on ever but didnt think I would with the bm.
Im tempted to order up the Panasonic SD524 from Amazon for £59.99 but dont wanna tempt fate about the refund!!*Don't let the b******s get you down

Amazon are selling a Panansonic breadmaker at £59.99 - £20 cheaper than normal.
I am trying to resist temptation as DH will not be happy if I order it."This site is addictive!"

Hi, Just wanted to add my experience.......
my mum has an all singing all dancing breadmaker that does cakes, breads, she can even do jam in it - plus other things....however she rarely gets a good loaf out of it.... she does great cakes though (think mcvitee's jamican cake and golden syrup cake - yum yum)
anyway for christmas 2 years ago she got father christmas to bring me a straight forward - no frills - breadmaker from woolworths (i'd been a very good girl you understand!)..... we went about 6 months without buying any bread! true.. they weren't all perfect - about 1 in 6 were edible (just) but others perfectly fine... used packets and made from scratch both worked fine. Anyway mum decided hers was too fancy so decided to treat herself to the bargain one i got... guess what ? yup! she still can't get a decent loaf out of it!!! I know this is no help - other than your either lucky or not .... but i can agree with you not everyone can use a breadmaker! still think of the calories - hot tasty bread is irresistable.....

I recently returned something to Amazon as defective after six month, they refunded the same day they received it back, emailed once to say they had received it, half an hour later emailed to say they had refunded and the account was also updated with the return and refund.0

I've just found this thread. An aunt of mine bought an iron from MR which was a pain to use; she sent it back to them with an indignant letter and said she was very disappointed with it. They phoned her up and asked if she would be interested in testing items for them! Every few months they send her a new appliance to test and she has to let them know what she thinks. I'm pretty sure she ends up keeping the item, too! She has tested all sorts of things besides BM's, like coffee makers, irons and so on. I'm not saying they would ask every complainant to test items but it goes to show that they do take complaints and criticisms seriously and are interested in the customers' opinions.
I hasten to add that I am not connected to MR in any way whatsoever!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

I am such a liar:D
Can you smell it from there?
I had a terrible loaf using a mix from lidl but never had a bad one using other mixes or making from scratch. I have a 5-6 year old panasonic.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
Thanks for posting that pic, see my loaves never looked like that!! Thats how I expected a bm to make loaves. I am deffo gonna get a Panasonic once Ive got my refund

Using the recipes that came with my bm I couldnt get a good loaf, but I've experimented using different recipes and I found a good one on an OS thread that gives me the kind of loaf I like - just flour, yeast, oil, water and a pinch of salt - and it cooks fine in both my bms though I usually mix in the bm and take it out to rise and bake it in the oven as I prefer the oven crust.
BTW I'm not extravagant having 2 bms - one was an Argos Cookworks cheapie, the other was a freebie, an old Prima which still works fine.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I don't know. I've got some issues where I believe everything is my fault and it must have been something I did wrong (conditioning!)... so sitting on the edges at the moment believing that it might be OK ... and if I don't use it to bake the bread it might be OK ... and what if I send it back and they say there's nothing wrong with it ... so, sort of ... being all weak and pathetic.Ooh good so do u think u will try to return yours too. U could use my situation as an example (as I take it you didnt buy it from Amazon?).
