It's not just me having this problem it seems though. #12 above has used lots of recipes with this BM and getting the same bad results every time.Don't use pre-done mixes! My bread is perfect every time in my bread maker. Just make sure you use fresh ingredients and use strong flour.0 -
This is what I have written:
Hi, I bought a Morphy Richards breadmaker from you in September 2007. I have not been satisfied with it since I bought it as the drop down paddle never drops down after baking the bread even on the very first loaf. Secondly the sides of the bread are always burnt and very crusty even on the lightest setting. I thought it might be the way I was making the bread even though I was following the receipes exactly, so I have tried varying them too and this hasnt helped either. After recently seeing a thread on a forum about breadmakers I have seen that other people have the same problems as mine so there is clearly a problem with this machine. I also see that on the reviews on Amazon people on here also have this problem. I would like to buy the more expensive Panasonic breadmaker which seems to only get good reviews but wanted to speak with you first about this problem, as I dont feel this breadmaker it fit for its purpose.
Lets see what they say now, to be fair I have had it a long time so Im not very confident!!*Don't let the b******s get you down

I have a panny and packet mixes work brilliantly in it.i hope you get a good resolution (full refund and a panny instead!) i can't see how it could be down to human error if so many people have issues with that make.0
-
Mines a morphy richards . When i first got it ,I had to season the pan by rubbing with oil and baking for something like 10 minutes and it has always been excellent. I did buy a new pan though as the paddle got stuck after about a year of use. This new one I religiously oil every time I put it away at night and it slides the bread out easily.
I dont follow the recipe as it is too cake like for us but you must make sure to use tepid ,not too hot or cold water and the yeast needs to be a new tin about once a month if you buy tinned .0 -
I bought the panny after all the hype on here, and I still find it a bit hit or miss.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

Well they took their time!
Looks like a result.
I've never returned anything... would they just give you a refund, or do they carry out tests, then say it's all your fault and want money for the postage etc? I'd be worried I'd end up with no BM and a bill.0 -
I think Amazon are pretty good with returns and judging on the wording of the email it doesnt say any warnings about tests etc so Im gonna go for it and see what happens. If they do try any funny business, I will kick up a fuss as there is definately no warning of that in their reply. Ill keep you updated!!*Don't let the b******s get you down

I've still got my box. I hate getting rid of boxes, even though this place isn't large enough to keep them I still did.
I like to keep everything perfect.0
