Hi Snaggles, I've been reading your threads for a while, but never posted before.
It has brightened my morning reading this and I'm sure you'll be Debt Free before you know it!

Oooo a new Snaggles diary...How did I miss this ???

Don't take any carp from school Hun-Just be firm with them-and don't wobble (you can come and wobble at us later instead)

Hiya BackToWales and Duchy and thanks very much.
Don't worry, I am not going to take any nonsense from the school - I am going to ask for an appointment to speak to the head teacher to discuss starting the assessment process for getting a statement - if I've understood correctly I can either do it WITH the school's involvement, or I can just go straight over their heads to the education authority, but I would like the school to be onside if possible, so will start there.
I am also picking up a carpet sample from our local carpet store tomorrow - I sent them a (possibly slightly cheeky) email asking for a carpet sample, and they sent me a very nice reply saying I could go in and ask for the manager who has put some aside for me that they no longer need, and they would be very pleased to donate them to us if it helps make Ryan's life a bit easier. I think that's really nice of them. :A
*passes round the coffee and biscuits but only to those who are sitting nicely on their carpet tiles*
Had a really crap day at work yesterday, so I am really hoping tomorrow will be better - 'can I borrow £400k? By the way, I have been self employed for the last 4 minutes, have nil income so far and my only assets are my iPod, a few foreign coins and a button.' Arrrghhhhhhhh!!! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Oh my goodness, I forgot the thing I had signed on to say!
Another £150 paid off my loan this week, so it is now standing at £4349.51. :j
The credit card is a different story (£422.58:eek:) but I will get there!

I am pretty sure that you can go over their heads snaggs, well i know you can. What a stupid thing for his teacher to say, i cant believe in this supposedly clued up age that he would come out with a comment like that. I thoroughly agree on the carpet square thing as well, bloomin literacy hour, when they are all crowded around the white board, squiggling like mad...i wouldn't sit on the floor for that leangth of time, i used to let mine sit on their chairs and only did floor work if i had to. After we do excercises, mostly because it keeps them looking forward to the next bit and focussed.... I will go off now and shake my head in disbelief.
Good luck , go straight to your LEA, and stuff them.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Thanks Bob, if they don't co-operate then that is exactly what I am going to do. Apparently, getting a statement will involve a report from the team who are working with him at the moment, and they are just amazingly fantastic - they feel really strongly that he should be statemented, and that he is 'more autistic' (for want of a better description) than people realise, due to the fact that is is so intelligent that he has already developed a lot of his own coping/disguising strategies. This is what I have been feeling too, so I am relieved that someone so experienced sees what I have been seeing.
Phew.....just as a bit of light relief, does anyone else think that Martin looks like a Thunderbird in his Wimbledon outfit, when you catch sight of him out of the corner of your eye?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
