You should make a Pear crumble with all those spare pears, then freeze it.

My Mum is the queen of the crumble - her rhubard and apple ones are to die for. Mine always come out soggy. I usually end up making pear and apple mush with cinnamon for Natasha out of them."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Kitchen and dining area finished, plus me and Ryan have made Dalek cookies.
Will take a photo if they come out okay.
Natasha is having ANOTHER nap, she's exhausted today because she was up half the night. Need to vac and dust the living room and give the bathroom a quick clean, and then I'm done :T
Ryan is also making dinner for this evening - I found a packet of pizza base mix, so we are going to make pizzas together. Does anyone know how to make a tomato sauce base? I've got tinned tomatoes, olive oil, and some herbs - if I cook all those and puree them, would that be okay? Should I drain the tomatoes a bit first? I am so rubbish at this cooking business!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hiya, I've been lurking for a little while and posted a few times. Thank you for your diary which is a great encouragement!
I would drain the tomatoes first because otherwise it wont be enough of a paste to spread over the bases, the base will absorb the water and it will go soggy... yeugh... I'm just finishing work now and off home to cook our tea.... curry mmmmmm
Take care!

hiya hun!
When I get spinach, I freeze it in the bag and then I add some into a curry. I scrunch the frozen bag to crush it, pour a bit in and then put the bag back in the freezer - say it's coriander if anyone asks
for the tomatoes - you could pop them in a pan and cook them until they reduce down to a really thick sauce. If you use a shallow pan like a frying pan, it's quicker as the liquid is spread over less surface to start with. Pop the herbs in whilst cooking. If you have an onion, chop and fry it first and then add the tomatoes."Stay Wonky":D

Thanks very much - will go and attempt a sauce now then.

Do you think Ryan is taking orders? If so, I'll have a pizza from Ryan's Restaurant if I may and I'll collect around 7?

Actually, he was pretending he worked in a pizza shop when he was making it. :rotfl:
The pizza was gorgeous, so were the cookies. They were only made from a packet, but tasted really nice, and he had loads of fun decorating them. I'm just looking for my lead for my phone now, to upload the pictures.
I think that's a pretty good DFW day - I managed to entertain the kids all day with cooking (Ryan) and playing the drums on an assortment of pots and pans (Natasha), and the food we made was very 'storecupboardy' (yes, it IS a word :rotfl:). And apart from the vacuuming, the housework is all done. :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Snags,
You know that mini mag i was telling you about from Tesco? There was a easy breakfast thing in there that is both SW, easy and contains spinach!
I used 1/3 of a bag making myself breakfast.
2 eggs, scrambled well with a bit of water
handful of spinach (I used 3 HUGE handfuls!)
and I used LF ham as well-
put eggs into hot pan (used Frylight), added spinach and ham and then Bob's your uncle, GORGEOUS filling spinach omlette!
