I wouldn't know - I don't think I've had a 'proper' jaffa cake for the last 2 years! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I doubt if I will ever be mortgage free Len, don't worry! :rotfl: Or certainly not this side of retirement anyway!
I set myself a target of getting the mortgage under £32k (was at about £38.5k originally I think, including the loan), so that borrowing the extra for the extension wouldn't be too painful.
We can afford a mortgage of about £70k, so that gives us £38k for the extension. I have no idea if that will be enough - people seem to be saying anything from about £25k to £50k for a 2 storey extension, so we are still not certain we will be able to go ahead.
Not too worried about decorating or furniture as we have quite a lot of 'stuff' already, and will just do the old 'cream walls, cheap beige carpet' thing to make it liveable."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

.....but I'm running out of petrol.....but the AA man has towed me home?
or running on empty? (cue for a song)
or hit the finishing line, and am now on the podium?0 -
