ive been browsing through many areas on this forum , being new
. i personally dont have any thing to do with the csa nor do i have kids but a very good friend of mine does and has the most horrendous problems with the csa. he has no problem supporting his kids at all, but the amount they take make it almost impossible for him to have any kind of life and he works very hard. anyway he has contacted an organisation
www.nacsa.co.uk
they are independent from csa or the government, they are specialists in this field and i would advise anyone having problems to contact them.0 -
KAP - you need to appeal, on the grounds that there is no ability at present to determine NRP or PWC. There is a difference between a Home and a Household.0

That is craziness. You wife is a cheeky b!tch.
You pay all the bills, buy food with her in turns, and are at hand to care for the children. Yet have to pay for this???:cool:0 -
Hi guys thanksfor all your thoughts and suggestions -
Trears. They insishought would give you all a quick update. Have today been in touch with those horrible little sh#ts at the CSA only to be told they are refusing me the right to a review of my case and that it must be put through as an official appeal.
I sent them full detail of all the the care/custody etc etc I have of my 3 kids and as it was received 3 days late they are refusing my review.
I received a request from them for further detail 4 days before it was due back. This was a Saturday. This was returned to them on the Monday evening the day before the due date. They say they received it 3 days after that abd therefore after the due date.
Anyway they now want my £583.00 per month along with £1200 and odd pound for arrears, they demand I return a direct debit mandate and even had the cheek to ask for my credit card to pay arrears after I had told them I could not afford the monthly payment never mind the arrears.
Official appeal could take upto 4 months - what do I do.
!!!!!! Turpin is alive and well and working at the CSA
Sorry to ramble0 -
jeez I'm so sorry to hear that - I'm sorry I can't offer any 'technical' advice but I've got my fingers crossed for you - I'd just kick up a fuss and don't take anything they say as gospel - another operator might give you different advice. Was it your caseworker you spoke to?
I can't believe your wife has done this to you :mad:0 -
Really sorry for all this mess. Just wanted to say that you are not alone. A year and a half ago the CSA decided to reassess my husband's case, and decided that we should pay £800 a month as well as owing £12 000ish in arrears. We are not rich, my husband pays the expenses for putting DSDs through university and we had a toddler of our own.
I don't know how , but OH got them to recognise the amount was unfair. We did get the monthly amount changed, although we still owe all the money for arrears. As a result even though the ex has no children living with her (Both at uni) and DSS lives with us we are still paying maintenance.
Based on our experiences I believe the CSA operate outside the justice system cos there ain't no justice in it. It would also not surprise me if the CSA was used politically by the government to get single mums living on benefits off benefits by making their ex-partners pay for them. Or is that a little unfair? In a Den first, Theo Paphitis has been getting business information from a talking tree.0 -
Not unfair at all - my understanding is the CSA awarded payments are then aken into account against possible benefits the PWC can claim - is this not us paying for the benefits in some way. Dont get me wrong I have no objection to paying for my children if I am not awarded care, but in my current situation I find the whole thing a disgrace....0

Yep, if the PWC is on Income Support, the most they can receive is £10 a week from the CSA, the extra the NRP goes to cover the benefits the PWC receives.
My partner received a claim for maintenence. In the divorce, he came out with 45% of the equity in the home and JOINT custody of their daughter, he has her 50% of the time. I worked out he still might have to pay (using the online calculator), but he has decided to do a counter claim. Im not sure it will get him anywhere though, but as someone said, great for the 'taste of your own medicine.
Good Luck

Hey like you say it may make you feel better. Have done the same thing myself, but 4 weeks later not had response. All I keep getting quoted is if the child benefit is in your wifes name you can not expect to succeed. Aaaaagggghhhhh - need a dark room to have a scream in.
Good luck with hubbies attempt0 -

Hi KAP
Your solution may be more obvious than you think. Simply write to Newcastle ( Child Benefit) and have it changed to pay you. Thats exactly what I did ... no questions were asked, changed the bank details etc ... Bob's your Uncle.
(I am assuming though that you have Parental Rights and Resps):wave:0
