If you've got carpets you may want to either adjust the bristle roller height or switch it off otherwise you'll find that half your carpet is in the transparent waste collector.

ha ha i wish i would have read this before i vacumned with it for the 1st time-the carpet now looks decidely lower :rotfl:

anyway we got the red one with all the attachments which arrived with only 1 small scuff mark so we are happy for our £40 outlay

    thanks to the OP
  • I recieved mine yesterday minus the stair attachment tool. The product info sheet for the reconditioned vacuum on bissell's website clearly states that this is included with the product. I have sent them an email requesting this is provided, I will be referring them onto trading standards if they refuse on the grounds of false advertising. I suggest that others do the same if the tool was missing. FYI the link to the info sheet is http://www.bissell-secure.co.uk/site/prod_info/1026.pdf
  • I didnt get the stair attachment either so I have just emailed them, also according to the specs it should have a headlight on which my hasnt, so also mentioned that.

    Hi mates

Which one would you recommend for washing carpets?

    For example, is this "Bissell Quickwash 2 1970E" £56.90 better than this"Bissell PowerWash Deluxe - 1694J" £69.90

Thanks for your advice - Am getting a bit confused now.

    Quoted for comedy :-)

Bought one of these last year from a similar offer. Please, please avoid!

We were replacing a ten-year-old vax, thought that a bagless one would keep suction going. However, the container is very small and needs emptying pretty much every time it is used. The filter gets clogged and it's a very dirty job emptying the container and cleaning the filter next to it - dust goes everywhere. The suction power drops and it was pretty much useless after six months no matter how much we cleaned the filters.

It's very heavy, even when just using the lift-off section.

It almost put me off buying 'bargains', and we replaced it with a miele to try to make up for just how awful this one was. The miele out-sucks this one on the second of six settings, and is probably quieter when it's on max; however we can't push it at that level because it's essentially stuck to the floor. I appreciate that the miele is 5x the cost of this one, but I felt sorry for the person we freecycled it to - it's *that* bad.

Yes I find that they are very dirty to clean too; dust everywhere in nearly all its compartments even where it should not be. But, having used VAXs, Dysons, Electroluxes. Bissell beats them all. Shame that they never reply to emails though.

I still think the Dyson is far better performance wise but for the money this is a very good buy.
