Fabric conditioner

Pre-child and in a life full of late nights, early mornings and ready meals ... I lived in a world of fabric conditioner and loved it, except for the odd times (6mths at a time) when DH (then OH) armpits started to smell ..... and we laid off the FC eventually.
Then .. we moved .. had a child ... cloth nappied her and life became different .. LOL.
Now, I swear by white vinegar (bought in bulk from the Chinese supermarket), with just the occasional relapse into ecovers fc ....
But then again, I've also changed from Persil (been there ALL my life) to ecover ... so no hope for me really .. LOL.
And I've done the softness tests
a) tumble dryer with fc
b) tumble dryer without fc
c) indoor line dried with fc
d) indoor line dried w/o fc
e) indoor line dried .. fc .. then shaken
f) indoor line dried .. fc ... not shaken
g) indoor line dried .. no fc .. shaken
h) indoor line dried .. no fc ... not shaken
i) outdoor line dried .. fc .. then shaken
j) outdoor line dried .. fc ... not shaken
k) outdoor line dried ..no fc .. then shaken
l) outdoor line dried .. no fc ... not shaken
I live a boring life ... I've just realised that .. I won't even comment on how my airing cupboard is organised!
Needless to say .... I like my clothes dried outside on the line .... and yes, I've tested different lines too (ie rotary versus straight!)GC - March 2024 -0 -
Thank-you everyone, given that the majority view--so many of you can't be wrong, lol. I think I'll start using fabric conditioner occasionally--probably ecover, due to environmental factors.
Thanks for your helpAnytime;)0 -
Stopped using fabric conditioner a couple of years ago, never looked back. Not using any vinegar or such either. Laundry that has been in tumble dryer comes out soft, anyway. Towels are a bit stiff when they have been line dried, but just think, you get very gentle exfoliation for free!0
