I used the ICE at Waterloo Station in London today to buy some dollars.
Found them to have the best rate via the MSE 'Travel Money Maximiser' with a rate of 1.621 dollars per pound (voucher required from their website).
No complaints at all, just make sure you pay in cash as there seems to be a fee for debit/credit card transactions.

I too have used bestforeignexchange with no problems at all. I needed to sell leftover Euros, but was a bit weary of just sending a wadge of money in the post, so before sending it off I telephoned a couple of times, querying the procedure etc & they were very helpful amd money was paid into my bank account on time.I don't think I can hang on til Friday...0

Hi, first time posting
so apologies if I've a newbie stating something obvious that everyone else knows. Yesterday discovered benefits of pre-ordering currency at Thomas Cook. Usually use travel money max to find best rate - always means ordering and while that's always been fine it was short notice so a bit worried about missed delivery. TC over the counter Euro rate was 1.14 but we got 1.21 in advance, best rate yesterday for local pickup according to tmm - and I think that would have applied if we'd stood outside and ordered on smartphone then walked in.

has anyone use ace fx for ordering euros and are they ok0

I have to say, I've just used Covent Garden FX and their delivery service.
Ordered Thursday evening, delivered this morning (Saturday) special delivery.
Very good rate (about the best I could find) and only £4.95 for delivery insurance. Communication was top notch (I entered the wrong postcode and they investigated and corrected it with no probs).
Would not hesitate to use again or recommend.0 -
For what it's worth, I would highly recommend bestforeignexchange.com
I ruled them out at first, due to them not having FSA approval, and not taking card payments. But after a failed transaction with fairfx and a glowing review of their parent company from a friend I took the plunge. I followed their instructions to the letter and received my money 2 days later. I repeated my order a day later and the same again, fantastic service all in all and I definitely couldn't see their rate bettered anyway
On a more negative note I would warn people against fairfx. I chose them due to their decent rate, FSA approval and the backup of insured card payment. However, when ordering I was presented with a message saying I had failed identification checks and I should contact them. I sent 2 emails, neither of which were replied to. I've lived in the same house for 3 years and all my documents are in order so all a bit strange, but the complete lack of customer service sounds a lot of alarms for me!
Strange, Fairfx customer services have rung me a couple of times and I've always found them to be excellent.0 -
I've just ordered travel money through FairFX and they sent me 6 x €100 notes. How on earth do they expect me to change those?
I am not amused.0 -
Re AceFX - I used them in June 2011 and found their service to be excellent. I have since used FairFX and also had no problems.
I have also found that the local Cheque Centre/Mail Boxes outlets on the high street also offer competitive exchange rates and are well worth a phone call or a visit for comparisons.0 -
Used FairFx card around the world. Brilliant rates, does just what it says on the tin.0

Just tried to buy some currency from ICE. They told me my bank rejected the transaction because the address was wrong. My bank said "nonsense, we've authorised it". ICE refused to believe that my bank was correct. Even more bizarrely, the address on my order matched the correct billing address exactly in every detail! So I cancelled the order and used M&S instead - costs more but at least I know I'll get the money.0
