I'm sick of ebay charges!!!!

Hi I'm sick of ebay charges!!!

And was wondering if there are any other "good" auction sites out there??

Ebay makes millions of pounds of profit for basically a website.

I've had trouble with some auctions and basically ebay never wants to know. Their quick to take your money but it's a another story when help is need!!

I stumbled across this one recently:

    http://uk.ebid.tv/

I have no idea what it's like, but they seem to be getting a bit of interest. Their selling point seems to be much lower charges. As I said, I don't know a lot about it, but it may be worth a squint.

I agree, ebay fees are totally ridiculous. I have a £65 bill this moth as 2 fools bid on a car & changed their minds without seeing it & they are going to take that money before they have refunded me. I absoloutly hate ebay. Right i am so mad im starting a new link!!
  • I think the charges are fair, sure more help when things go wrong would be nice

But as a buyer, it allows me to find things worldwide that I would not otherwise fine

As a seller, it allows me to offload things like CDs that used to have no resale value

As a business model, it is hard to fault

yep thats why its so populer,i can live with the ebay charges but when u add paypal charge on top it eats into the profits a fair bit.

until theres an viable alternative to ebay i guess they can charge as much as they think they can get away with.

maybe its about time google got in on the act, google auctions sounds good:D they would certainly have the clout to give ebay some stiff competition and they seem to love a challenge:cool:

Ebay really have the market cornered. You can try places like ebid (which isn't too bad) or QXL (which is pretty rubbish) but you would be unlikely to get the same number of people interested in your auctions and so the price you get will usually be lower.
