I agree that this case is a non-specific one , Clutton, and she willl be sorted..It may be stresful babe, but you will get there.
What I don't like is that you (clutton) will continue to give information that will make every single tenant f..uck over their LL....
Yeah, you know the rights...so do we all, but if you continue this way...you, I and every other decent hard-working person (landlord) on this site will fail.
DO YOU WANT THAT?
Thats the way it seems0 -

OTOH, it's not the tenant's fault that the LL's father has become sick? Why should she suffer as a result of this event? When you become a LL, you take on the RISKS as well as the REWARDS of doing so, and should plan your BUSINESS accordingly. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
The OP is in arrears, and only working part-time. If she tries those sort of delaying tactics on a LL who sounds as though he has stresses of his own too, maybe the LL will push through to a CCJ for the unpaid rent?

I know why you're saying what you are Clutton but it does maybe need to be looked at from a wider point of view.Just a thought that it doesn't add to the OP's desirability as a tenant for the future?0 -

Looks to me that the LL is making a BUSINESS decision to legally evict a tenant with rent arrears. it's not the landlord's fault that the tenant has rent arrears, why should he suffer as a result of this event? When you become a tenant you take on a commitment to pay your rent.
Not that I don't have sympathy for the tenant, but you are making the landlord out to be the evil one, whereas if he had a tenant who he could rely on to be uptodate with the rent, he may not have needed to sell up.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Totally agree...not taking away anything from the OP's adversities, just a bee that should be taken elsewhere.
Hope your dad is okay0 -
Not read all the threads - but for the sake of your family, if you can't get private rent contact the Council.
Here if there is a priority - you are classed as Group 1 and get the quickest accommodation.:cool:0 -
A section 21 is enough to show that the OP will be homeless and the council will sort it out.
Often not the case - a s.21 isn't enough, and the council will tell tenants they have to wait to be evicted before they will be housed....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Massive thread by Mumoftwins on the debt free board, she had rent arrears brought about by a medical condition and the council said the rent arrears meant she was intentionally homeless, even though it was proved that the landlord had put the house up for sale before she moved in.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
