Im currently 'negotiating' a new deal with aol, thinking that a loyal customer might get a good deal, offered £14.99 broadband only, with new router, I put an offer to them I would accept to stay with them. They told me I can only have a deal that is available to all customers to 'treat everyone the same', I know 1 person on £9.99 a month, so i don't think i am being 'treated the same!'. Have any of you been offered £9.99 when you threatened to leave them, how did you manage to get the deal that makes them break away from their ethic.

I was offered 9.99 2mb no contract.I think this is the lowest they can go.0

I'm on £9.99 up to 8MB, with no AOL talk package but they sent me a flyer today saying I can have unlimited anytime phone calls at no extra cost and with no contract. Unfortunately its not my phone line, its my parents and they are in a 12 month contract with BT. When I move out though i'll be biting their hand off.
If I get my own BT line thats £20.48 a month total cost for Unlimited Calls anytime 24/7 + Broadband. Can't imagine a better deal from anyone else really outside a cabled area.0 -
Ask for your MAC.They will soon offer you the £9.99 deal rather than lose you as a customer...Neil0

i was wondering about that laptop offer theyre doing for new users too through carphone warehouse, i get really annoyed by new customers getting incentives and as a member with them for years, i get sweet FA! lol x0

You can only ask about the laptop. As an existing user I was sent an email saying I was eligilbe for it also. I think you would have a new 18mth contract.
I'm on a 9.99 deal and have also been offered the aol talk calls but have not taken it up as don't really want to re-install AOL software in order to look at bills.0 -

Don't bother, its 24 month contract and £19.99 a month minimum. Which means that laptop is costing you £240 anyway, Take a look at Dell's current laptops and you can probably get a better deal if you are seriously in the market for a laptop.
The main reason I'm saying don't bother however is because AOL's service leaves a lot to be desired lately. A lot of people are having authentication issues where you end up not being able to get online for several hours some nights because the servers knock you offline and then won't authenticate your password. This has all started since Carphone Warehouse took over and put AOL customers onto their servers.
Don't get me wrong, when its good, its good and that is the majority of the time but I wouldn't like to think I was tied in to a 2 year contract for intermittent service.0 -
Ive been with AOL for nearly 2 years and all im paying is £9.99 , have paid that since day one0

They are actually offering £9.99 per month on their website every month(not short term promotion)0

AOL seem to have tightened up on their retention deals, they've offered me £12.99 month for "upto 8mb" with a 10gb download limit, rolling contract, I've taken it for now but will almost certainly move to O2 when they go live at my exchange.0
