Basically, the box will transmit whatever device is connected to it. When you are not watching Sky on your TV (eg. it is off, or you are watching BBC1), the Sky box is nevertheless giving out a signal (as is the cable box). A video-sender will transmit this image (and will have no 'knowledge' of what you are watching on TV).
The one you linked to also allows "mutiple inputs" (as you described) so could be used for Sky and Cable without switching wires (ie. it will transmit both).0 -

I have the Tesco's Technika and a Netgear wireless working perfectly. Right now I'm sitting wiht the laptop about 3 feet away from the technika sender and I have a perfect picture.
The Technika has 4 channels, when I set the wireless up I did get loads of interferance whenever I was logged on so I changed the channels until it was right. Only interference I get now is when I use the microwave - good job I only use it to defrost things! The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -

I did try changing channels but the interference was so bad that I couldn't test it for long 'til it scrambled my drivers.
Maybe it was me...:(This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

So far as I can tell its the only one that you can add extra recievers to and fire your Sky and DVD(dual inputs) to every room in the house and with the sky remote you can change channels from your bedroom/kitchen etc.
I've got four in my house!!!(Kitchen,Living Room and 2 Bedrooms) Just need another 3 Sky remotes cos' I keep leaving it upstairs!!!!!
Cant say how good it is with wireless networks but have heard it works ok with no interference. You can add as many receivers as you want(at £40 a pop  ) In theory you could share Sky with your next door neighboursI am not young enough to know everything.
