I have just had sky installed and rather than run an 'eye' up to the bedroom from the living room the engineer suggested buying a sender from Argos. Unfortunately there are a few too many to chose from.

Has anyone got any experience/reccomendations please. It might be worth forking out for one that will do all the TVs in the house if they are any good.

I've got this one. Relatively easy to set up (even for a girl!) and great picture/sound etc.

I've got one at home that is still boxed, used to test only. Ended up not using it, as the ir sender (the bit that sends remote controller signals back to the TV) didn't work with my stuff.

£25 + P&P if you're interested. It's some brand, is black and round and small. will post pics if you are interested.

Bought this one for young lads room maybe as long ago as 3 years, and it's brilliant.

    http://www.beststuff.co.uk/one_for_all_sv1720.htm

It was £50 ish in Costco and has Crystal clear pic and sound and, quite amazing really given that I have put the sender out of sight under the DVD, Video and TV and the receiver is next to the young lads TV, Video and PS2.

After spending ages trawling the net for reviews and advice from people in the know, I got this one and it works a treat.
So far as I can tell its the only one that you can add extra recievers to and fire your Sky and DVD(dual inputs) to every room in the house and with the sky remote you can change channels from your bedroom/kitchen etc.
I've got four in my house!!!(Kitchen,Living Room and 2 Bedrooms) Just need another 3 Sky remotes cos' I keep leaving it upstairs!!!!!
I am not young enough to know everything.

Digisender is the industry standard - as above, i think this is the only one you can add receivers too. But you pay for it!

My one is the Medion MD 9048 2.4 GHz Wireless Video transmitter. Receiver unit can transmit infrared signals back to transmitter to allow remote control of Video/DVD (through supplied blaster cable).

    Items included:
    1 x Transmitter
    1 x Receiver
    1 x 9v power supply for receiver
    1 x 12v power supply for transmitter
    1 x Scart<->3 phono cable (switchable direction)
    1 x Infrared blaster cable
Transmitter has 3 phono input connections (left audio/right audio/video), 12v DC input, IR blaster output.

Receiver has 3 phono output connections (left audio/right audio/video), 9v DC input, RF output (for older TVs).

Operates on 2.4GHz frequency and has 4 switchable channels to reduce interference. Infrared channel is on 433MHz.

Um, I'll lower the price to £20 +P&P as i think it's gone down in price.

If I recall they are not too clever if you have a wireless network installed...
mine always suffered with interference on the picture. (The one that Tesco did on special a short while ago)
Its in a box somewhere in the garage... might try it again one day.

Same here. Got the Technika from Tesco so that I could use laptop wirelessley while other half watched TV...the interference was so bad it somehow affected the laptop's wireless card drivers and I had to reinstall them. I ended up taking it back.

Would be interested to know if anyone has a sender and a wireless network that work in harmony.
