I've heard Bicarbonate of Soda being mentioned on here loads of times. So today when I was doing my weekly Weigh and Save shop I bought a bag of it. Now I can't remember what your supposed to use it for. Can anyone tell me?

There's a section on vinegar (with bicarb) and one on bicarbHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I use it for cleaning my microwave if it has got smelly (BBQ chicken wings make it stink!). I just put some warm water in the sink and add a dollop of bicarb and then wipe this round the microwave and then leave the door open and let it dry. Its also good for cleaning fridges and getting rid of smells in there and also I leave bicarb and water soaking in thermos flasks if I want to freshen them up.0

I use it to soak nappies before washing - but it is handy if you have a baby for that!!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Well I used some of it today. I put about 2 tablespoons of it in a bowl of water and scrubbed all my sofa cushions with it. I didnt know whether it was going to come out ok with them saying dry clean only on them but it has and they smell lovely and fresh now. I'm also going to use some later on a burnt saucepan :mad:2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Best thing for burnt saucepans is to fill them with hot water and a scoop of clothes washing powder, and leave to soak. Works every time (well, so far so good
)
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
