Post #1 on this thread will give you ideas for its use in cleaning. I buy it in 3KG bags from the local chinese supermarket - costs about £3 for 3 Kg, whereas the stuff you get in supermarkets is about 50p for 200g.0 -
Thanks - I was advised to use it to clean in between my bathroom tiles. Would I mix it with water?0

Yes, make a thick-ish paste and scrub with an old toothbrush or similar.0

There are lots of home-made cleaning recipes that might help. Here are some links:

Hi
I'm new to the forums but have subscribed to the e-mails for a while
In an effort to be more "green" (and also save a bit of cash if possible) I'd like to start using bicarbonate of soda more around the house - I've read on the boards about how it's good for lots of things. The trouble is I can only find the little sized cartons for cooking (I think the 200g ones). I've tried my local supermarkets and Robert Dyas but with no luck. Anyone got any ideas? I'd be really grateful for ideas about where I can look (I live in Surrey) for reasonably priced bicard and also what it's best used for.
Thanks0 -

Hi,
I've just purchased some from Summer Naturals, 500g for £1.20 plus p&P. Excellent website and brilliant customer service.

Welcome to the board, Kitticat! Have a look at this older thread.
Have you seen the cleaning index? I'll post you a link in a moment. That might give you some other ideas too. Enjoy!
Edit: here you go.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
