CPW - Cashback Redemption - Beware!
I decided to telephone CPW Redemptions today to find out where my cheque is, as 60 days had elapsed since sending in the August bill. I was told that as the bill did not have my mobile telephone number on it, it had not been processed. A letter was sent to me on 1 September about this - needless to say I did not receive the letter.
I was unaware that I needed to send in both the invoice which has my name and address and the service plan details which has my mobile phone number.
I did get a geographical number for CPW redemptions department, but I don't know if I can post it. If anyone needs it, pm me. I have passed it to saynoto0870.com.

Hi Dollywops, I also got caught in that trap, but as I had scanned and emailed my details they were able to let me know by return email so I could answer them straight away. Think I will phone them now to get an update.I say what I like, I like what I say!0

Another example of the tricks these retailers will pull so as NOT to pay up!
Get yourself a cashback that pays early such as mobilesuk.net, or better someone like orange thats doing 6 months 1/2 price direct without the casback fiasco's!
IF anyone know of better cashback T&C's than mobilesuk.net then feel free to post! Don't frget I said the T&C's NOT the actual casback amount's
Besides its a complicated equation to do when you factor in the ability to downgrade after an early cashback redemption, CPW will tie you to the tarrif till month 12.0 -

Phones4u has only one claim to be made after 6th month.
Carphonewarehouse for some deals payment is made at 8th month.
Beware of DAP, who are paying Airtime cashbacks in the 15th month, for said 12 month contracts.0 -
osps pay at month 4,8,12 in 1/3 increments you downgrade then you dont get the increment from when you downgrade0

Have they recently changed this condition? Because I asked them on 3 occasions whether I will lose my cashback before I downgraded to a lower tariff. I think they said my cashback will not be affected.

How can they pay you cashback for something you have NOT paid.
If you down grade at month 6, and the cashback was for 7 months then they will not pay you. Same as if the casback was 1/2 price for 8 month if you dgrade after month 8 then you wont get the third increment at month 12.
Also the total cashback is divided by three so you will NOT have actually had 1/2 price for the initial period.
Complicated I know.......but thats why people are having hassle with these companies, the customers DO NOT understand the mathematics they use!........But they do explain its just people ASSUME too much!0 -
You wont lose the cashback.........its just the cashback will not work out as 1/2 price or whatever they are promoting it as!
eg 1/2 price over 6 month is paid at3 installments of 1/3 total cashback at month 4,8,and 12 If you exercise your right to d/g at month 6, they will have only paid 1/3 of the total cashback at month 4. You are tied till month 12 to get your max cashback.....and dont forget it'll probably be a high tarrif that you might not need.
What they are doing is perfectly legit........you just gotta be carefull, OSPS is the worst I've seen! Mobilesuk.net is one of the best I've seen!0 -
On 20 October I received a text message from CPW to say that I would receive my redemption cheque within 14 days. I calculated 14 working days, which took me to last week. I telephoned the redemptions department this morning to be told the text should have said 14-21 days. Apparantly, a cheque was requested from CPW's bank on 2 November, but no-one has any idea if CPW have received it, or if it has been sent to me. CPW suggested cancelling the cheque and requesting a new one. I declined this offer. I will wait another 5 days. At this rate, I won't have received my 4th month's cashback by the time I receive my 8th month's bill!0

This is the CPW cashback claim form. It now includes vouchers that you need to send with your claim.0
