    GOOD MORNING! :D

It's gorgeous here today - sunny, freezing, white, water buckets got half inch of ice over them... NO MUD! :j But that also means freezing temperatures, so the storage heaters are all on (3 of them), the bathroom fan heater has been in use and I've also had to plug in an electric heater in the kitchen to stop that from freezing. But you were forewarned, so here are the results including a weekend with heaters all on (And I still need to light the fire!)

Your household's total energy spend over the last 48 weeks is £824.80.
For week ending 8th November, 2009 your household spent £18.02 (+ standing charge).
    Electricity A Rate: £12.62
    Electricity B Rate: £2.34
    Electricity C Rate: £3.06
    Standing charge: £1.61

That's brought my weekly average to £18.79, so it's still well below my predicted £100 per month but the next 7 weeks will be the telling ones. I CANNOT BELIEVE it's only 52 days until new year!

PS: It'll be next week before the badges change, as they're a week behind. Mine's still showing as a 'C' and an 'E' at the moment.

    Morning!

My badges seem to have changed, I've got 2 Bs which I am really pleased with, it will be because we didn't have the heating on that week.

Your household's total energy spend over the last 29 weeks is £352.32.
For week ending 8th November, 2009 your household spent £18.87 in total.
    Gas: £12.16 - Electricity: £4.07 - Electricity B: £2.64

That seems quite a lot to me, we did put the heating on more regularly but for a maximum of a couple of hours per day, and we've been using the woodburner rather than putting the heating on most of the time, this is our first winter in this house and it is a lot bigger than our old house so takes a lot more gas to heat.

The sun is shining now so that is warming me up nicely!

    Hello all!

Wish the sun was out here! Hoping for some sunnyness later (was forecast) as I've washed a load of bedding.

Double A for us again this week as still not put heating on, but this morning it was a lot colder than last week so this may be the week the heating has to go on in the mornings. Even so it will be the latest that we've ever waited and that's simply down to the mild weather.

Your household's total energy spend over the last 55 weeks is £361.48.
For week ending 8th November, 2009 your household spent £4.10 in total.
Gas meter (cubic metres): £0.00 - Main electricity meter: £4.10

No sun here in London nor any wind. I have put 2 loads of washing out and I could see my breath as I was hanging it:eek:. Now it is hardly moving 'cos there is no wind but who knows it might be a little bit drier by 4 O'clock:D I hope LOL.
  • Clothes have been out all week drying in the close and one or two are still slightly damp. Amazingly none of them have that musty smell that you sometimes get if they fail to dry in reasonable time.

Readings this last week were only 15 kWh no gas and double A. I think I've had a good run this summer, and autumn, so the heating will be going on this evening.

I've brought mine back in now as they didn't seem to be in the sun anymore, they were a bit drier. I got one of these the other week so I've moved it onto there.

Well done Sweetie and fiend for life with the double As!

My washing did come in quite a bit drier yesterday, so not giving up yet:D
  • Ah well heating went on last night. It's certainly appreciated more when it goes on.

Same here! I just couldn't take the cold any more.

My badges were a D and a C, so worse than the previous week and I haven't got my figure.
    Last week:
    Gas 32kWh/7kgCO2 (higher)
    Leccy: 41kWh/21kgCO2 (same)

I think the gas increase is just due to rounding of the cubic metres but it will definitely increase next week now that the heating is on.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

  • Heating on for us too yesterday! It got to about 4pm and after being cold most of the day I thought I'd 'test' the heating as it hadn't been used since the spring. All ok and it helped to take the 'damp' off my bedding wash which at least managed to come in drier than when it went out despite the lack of sunshine.

I'd put the heating timer to come on at 6.30 this morning for half an hour just to take the chill off but it felt really warm (!) so may not bother tomorrow and just put it on if we're all cold.
