Getting a 'C' for all households and low rise flats. Emissions were 11 kg for that week just shows how sensitive it is with low averages.

I haven't been in much this week so only 14 kWh of electricity.

I'm about a 15 mins walk (each way) from L!dl, about 12 from A!di, and less than 10 from a Mr M that opens the doors next Monday (was a S/fld, but has been closed for the last 12-13 weeks for the change over) -- but I couldn't live without my freezer. I stock up on Whoopsies (especially meat), bulk buy things (again especially meat), bulk cook, then freeze in portions. So some (if not all) the cost of running the freezer is offset by the savings on the good, and the savings on fuel from not having to cook from scratch every time we want h/m soup, bolognese, chille, curry, stew, casserole etc. I also rely very heavily on frozen vegetables ;)

Just checked my badges for last weeks readings. Both 'all users' and 'all g&e detahced' show a site average of 17kg CO2, and mine was 19kg...... yet I have a 'D' again 'all users' and an 'E' for my other  I guess it must be down to decimal places :rolleyes2

You're right - now I have to shop almost everyday but this is OK for me as my kids are now in their teens and will eat almost anything, so I just tend to buy whatever is on offer. My freezer was old and totally inefficient so I did'nt feel sad saying goodbye to it - I think this made it easier also:D.

It's only me and my son (18 next week!) here, but I find cooking for two very inefficient - either that or several days in a row of variations on a theme to enable me to use a whole pack of mince or such - and there are several meals that only one of will eat. By having my freezers (one of which was purchased last October as a replacement for an old and inefficient one) it allows us to have different meals now and again - with each only being cooked from scratch once every few months.

Just entered my readings from yesterday. Gas is exactly the same as the previous two weeks, but electricity has shot up to it's highest since mid-April. This won't have been helped by the fact DS broke up from college a couple of weeks ago, but I think it's also partly due to a few days of bad weather meaning lights have been on earlier in the evening.

However I think I'm also a biiiiig culprit here, and expect to see it stay higher than it has been !! A new crafting channel launched on F/view this week, and whilst I rarely buy from them they do have some great inspiration (and I have items similar to a lot of what they use, so the demos are useful without having to buy anything anyway ;) ). But as the times it's on aren't the most friendly for me (8am-1pm, Mon thru Fri) I went out 8 days ago and bought a new "toy" - a f/view box with built in Hard Disk and DVD recorder :o So it's been recording craft shows on other channels since then to allow me to 'play' with the system (and since Monday has been recording for 5 hoursa day minimum) which I then skip through deleting anything that's not of interest. I'm finding I can get 1hr down to anywhere between 10 mins and 25 mins, but of course it all uses electricty :rolleyes2

Hi guys, I forgot to put in my rating, I managed to get a 'C' against all users but am still an 'E' against same households - all 2 of us - so I ignore that :)

Cw18 - we're all allowed a bit of fun;):D Enjoy your new channel...

The rain has been driving me nuts smiley-lol.gif. Being determined to try and dry my washing "in between" the showeres on Tuesday it was all a bit of a disaster and I ended up not only having to dry my washing in my TD but also wash it all again (on 30 deg;)) I've been spoilt by all the beautiful drying weather....

That's my logic too -- though DS just sees it as spending temptation being put my way :rolleyes2 It's not as if I go out socialising (other than one crafting get-together a month), I don't have/can't afford holidays (partly due to the additional expense of kennel fees for 2 dogs!), and I don't pay gym fees or anything like that ;)

The drying factor hasn't been a major problem for me (we don't seem to generate anything like as much washing between the two of us as I had when doing all DH's stuff as well), but my lawns - especially the back one - are in dire need of doing! Unfortunately the bottom of the back one is like a paddy field after a considerable amount of rain, and even the dog is avoiding visiting the wall down there :rolleyes2

Me too. In fact use of the TD has pushed my electric up a bit the last few weeks. I'm getting it mostly dry outside but it needs fifteen mins or so in the TD to finish off.

Good morning, another week goes by and now the days are shortening, the lights are needed more, we just can't win, can we?

Your household's total energy spend over the last 31 weeks is £616.36 (plus £49.91 standing charge)

For week ending 12th July, 2009 your household spent £12.22 in total.
    Electricity A Rate: £10.18
    Electricity B Rate: £2.04
    Electricity C Rate: £0.00

(The actual figure was £13.90, according to the pre-payment meter, including standing charge.)

Brings my average weekly electricity use over the year to date to £21.49
It isn't much of an improvement but I suspect it may be close to it's limit. This gives me a rating against all other users of 'E', but I'll check that after a few more have updated their results for this week. :D
