I've been going through customer services until yesterday when I got home to find the letter from this bloke. I don't know if there's any one else in the sorting office, as his is the only name on the letter.I'd rather write than phone him ( as he suggests) as I want a record of what's being said.

TBH if I thought it was a real problem I'd probably sort something else out, but if my post has been delivered with no complaints from the postman for the last 8 years, and nothing else has changed ( same door, same everything) , I don't see why he can't manage his relief staff to do the job properly like the full timers do, instead of threatening to stop my post.

Anyway whinge over, thanks for the comments one and all. I'll get back on to them with a full answer to the letter, and see what happens next.

Is your letter from Customer Services or from the Delivery Office? You will need to go through Customer Services rather than the Delivery Office, the Delivery Office will not have their own official Customer Service Department

Ive been complaining though customer services ( the official phone number in the book) but the letter has come from the local Delivery office.

Then you should still receive a letter from Customer Services in reply to your official complaint. I would correspond directly with Customer Services rather than the Delivery Office. All letters coming directly from Customer Services will have a reference number starting with a 1-******

a complaint ot customer service creates a report in the CLEO system
    (communication link every office)
this is checked daily ,and these are discussed daily on a conference call with the regional manager
the complaints are looked at by the managers
these are printed off and addressed as required at the DO
a resolution is entered and this is emailed back to CS

    Hi elsien,

I know of someone in my village who has a free standing 'letter box'. - no idea where you get them from but it is rather nice and stands about 3 feet high and my be just the job for you.

I assume it is concreted into the ground so that no one can walk off with it - I have come across it whilst delivering the free paper locally and that goes in very well - they have dog and it saves them cleaning up the remains of anything put through the door

Hope that may help a little :o

If you think that is bad, in York Royal mail is saying that if your path is slippy then they won't deliver.

What they mean by this is that some housing have old patio style paving and when it's wet it's slippy.

What next, refusing to handle the mail because of the chance of getting a paper cut?!

In the flats where I used to stay they wouldn't deliver mail on Tuesdays then! The stairs were cleaned every Tuesday with a cleaning liquid which made them very slippy. I've also found the steps outside my local Woolies very slippery when wet.

    and on the flip side
it used to be if you had an injury on duty that it didnt count towards your sick days and the RM 'stage' system
    now it does
so have a fall on duty and this can push you up a tier on the sickness scale
    stage 1 no worries
    stage 2,dodgy
stage 3 and you are into sackable territory
im on a stage 1 after falling and ripping my chest cartilige (spelling)
if am off for more than 7 days now i would be on a stage 2
