I haven't had any problems with ICICI at all. They have always responded to me in a quick timeframe, most recently as I was sending in an R85 form as I'm a student, and were very helpful at telling me what to do.

My only complaint would be their website sometimes being slow, and not always loading completely.
  • message for ukdutypaid....I did not enter the url .in it was a page I was redirected to though the login page. I also think you should review your reaction to what you see as racist connotations within the entries in this thread. It is an opportunity for people to share their experiences with the financial industry and having the right to make complaints about shoddy customer service. I have a business bank account with Alliance & Leicester and am just as disappointed with their banking system and will shortly be writing a post about that. If nobody complains and has an opinion, apathy reigns so please bear that in mind. Oh, I won't tell you my ethnicity either because it really doesn't matter!

I 've not been able to log on to my ICICI HiSave accounts for over 2 months now. I opened my first account 2 years ago and was so happy I opened a second one! Then, out of the blue they changed the password settings. Like Labman, the first I knew about it was when I tried to log on and it told me my password was invalid. Like Labman I waited 10 days for a new password to be sent to me. Unfortunately, it didn't work and after the 3rd attempt my login was disabled. Assuming I hadn't read the password correctly I simply requested another new password. 3 weeks went by, nothing arrived so I requested another new password. 10 days after that one arrived. I tried to log on but again "invalid password". I contacted customer services, spent 40 minutes on the phone trying a nuber of different "special characters" (don't ask!) to no avail - the computer says no! In the end I was advised to request yet another new password. A further 12 days goes by and this morning I received another new password. I went to log on and, yes you've guessed it, "password invalid" Arrrrggghhhh.

Phoned customer services. Spent 57 minutes on the phone again trying every single "special character" in turn. Still no luck. Asked to speak to the supervisor. Put on hold for 10 minutes then got cut off. Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh. Phoned back, 11 mins on hold but finally spoke to supervisor. She wanted me to request a new password I said ...... NOOOOO! She promised to phone me back within the hour. 2 hours later I'm still waiting.

I don't know why some people are even going near indian URL's, it's

Sending funds is an ordinary BACS transfer....... Getting funds out is an ordinary BACS transfer.....
Borderline racism half the time, with the amount of criticism this bank gets....
Why would you have lost your money! They're part of every scheme going and took far less of a hit than every other 'non indian', read 'white', I think is what people are saying...

Racism? Take a look at this.

Anyone know if there is a problem with ICICI and Windows Vista, I can sign into the website but it hangs when I try to access my account ( I have upgraded to Vista, I am thinking that was probably a mistake).

Update, It finally let me in.

Why's the letter sent to people in India written in better English than the emails we receive in England???? (That's not meant to be a racist comment, just an observation)

Oh poo. It sounds like I'm just at the beginning of this.

I went to log in last tuesday and couldn't, so requested a new password. This arrived on saturday - I tried it and it said "password invalid". Retried until it told me log in diasbled. Phoned them up & tried various things. None of them worked. Told I'd receive a phone call & email within 48 hours once someone had looked into it. Suffice to say, I've not heard anything.

Just had a thought though that as it was a joint accoun I just might be able to log in using the details of my OH. As soon as I do get in I'll be withdrawing everything and not using the account again.

I'm having exactly the same problem with my account, so is my OH and so is my Mum. Our passwords are not recognised; when my OH tried to log in yesterday he received numerous error messages, including one saying that his user ID has expired!!

He has requested a new password so I will wait and see what happens and then request a new password for my own and my Mum's account. I'm not particularly impressed with the reliability of their website so far and after the latest password fiasco I don't think I will be keeping my account open for much longer.

This bank is pretty much incompetent.

My problems started when I made a £5000 transfer from my A&L account using the ICICI transfer funds utility to fund the HiSave account back in May. Now to my amazement I received a letter 3 days later from A&L saying that I've been charged £25 for insufficient funds in my Premier Current account, why? Well ICICI attempted to transfer £5000 twice = £10000.

Due to a duplicate transaction I was shafted with a £25 fee.

Now this is where their shoddy ICICI communication came into play. I sent ICICI a few emails asking what had gone wrong only to have to wait 7 days for each reply and a proper answer was never given. They in the end requested proof for the £25 fee which I had in a formal letter but they also wanted a copy of a statement.

A&L charge £5 for a hard copy statement as my account is a Premier Direct so a request was made asking if ICICI would refund this too. The reply I received was that A&L do not charge for statements and I should ask for one to be sent to me.

So here we have it, an ICICI representative who not only works for ICICI but for A&L as well and implies that i'm a liar.

Since I was never getting anywhere I wrote and complained providing a website link to the A&L charges, FSA code of conduct, Direct Debit code etc. It's now over 6 weeks and have been advised that it would take another 8 weeks to investigate.

I reckon the London branch in Wembley is being run in a back room of a barbers shop, that's why they have a PO Box number.

Now for my ICICI withdrawal... this should be interesting!

The website is completely unusable today - been trying to log in for 3 hours. Looks like I'm gonna have to raid another investment in order to pay my tax bill at the end of the month.

As soon as I can get in to my ICICI account, my money's all outta there.

OK, I just called their Customer Relations number (080 8131 4151), which was answered immediately. They said they are aware of the problems, which are down to maintenance (!), and they took the details of the withdrawal and said they would action it.

I'm still gonna get the money from elsewhere too, just in case they get this wrong. Don't want to risk upsetting the tax man! And still gonna close the account!
