Icici Bank Internet Banking Nightmare

I only ever had problems with the log in, but that's all sorted now, never had any problems with transfers in or out. I think they are trying really hard to get their security issues sorted out and are frequently changing their log in procedures.0

I echo the two previous posters - I have had a HiSave account for around a year and have never had any problems moving money into or out of it. I guess I transfer money a couple of times a month and this has ALWAYS gone smoothly. On the one occasion when I have had to call them, they have been super friendly, polite and very efficient. Hope I haven't now jinxed my account...!:T SMOKE FREE SINCE 3rd DECEMBER 2008 :T0

I have just sent ICICI a stinking letter telling them to close my account. I have been trying now for 15 months to submit funds to them, but nothing has ever gone through. I have written so many times asking for help, only to recieve a 'platitudes' letter more or less telling me I'm the thick one. Glad to see it 'aint me after all. Now all I need to do is find something similar (or better) that DOES work?0

I don't know why some people are even going near indian URL's, it's
Communicate> Write to Account manager and it's all part of the UK version..
Sending funds is an ordinary BACS transfer....... Getting funds out is an ordinary BACS transfer.....
Borderline racism half the time, with the amount of criticism this bank gets....
Why would you have lost your money! They're part of every scheme going and took far less of a hit than every other 'non indian', read 'white', I think is what people are saying...
Hell, Iceland is a Fisher Price toy for the Hedge Fund boys.....
It's .co.uk...... why in gods name are you anywhere near .in...... There needs to be a lot more checking of the plug in the wall, me thinks, sometimes...
They've changed their log in procedure once and that was this month... Plus, they gave almost 2 months warning about it....
People just love to knock 'em .... God, you scratch the surface of the English... This is England, eh...0 -

Most anti-ICICI comments, including mine, are for their appauling service; slow to respond, slow to action and emails that do sometimes sound overly condescending.
Please don't drag this forum down to being pseudo-racist, because it clearly isn't.You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0 -
I've never seen anything remotely racist on this entire forum, except from people who themselves, seem to think they are being targetted.0

Hi,
I had another set of problem with ICICI Current Account.
Unfortunately, I set up ICICI Current account as linked account to Kaupthing Edge Savings account.
I tried transferring money by BACS and after entering up details of Payee including Sort code and Account number of Kaupthing, Hurrah to my delight, it is giving error message invalid sort code.
I wrote to Account manager more than a week now, no reply so far. Contacted on phone and explained about it - no success yet. I requested money transfer by phone, said can't do it.
Any further suggestions how to sort this out?
I am requesting Kaupthing edge to change my linked account.0 -
Wow you've got an ICICI Current Account... Not one I've heard anybody having on here before...
Does look very useful for Indian Expats, though... but paying 0.5% on credit balances, it doesn't look very enticing to me..
I'm intrigued though, if you can't send to Kaupthing Edge from the Icici C.A, can't you request a Pull in from the Kaupthing Edge end?
Funny about the non recognition of the Kaupthing Edge Sort code... Not wishing to repudiate what you put, but you did get the Sort code right didn't you and how do you go on with payments from the Icici HomeVantage CA (I assume it is a UK Icici CA, is it, now I come to think about it?), normally?
Why can't you just redo the BACS payment if you're having probs, or Suck it in from the Kaupthing, end?0 -

Hi, there are couple of reasons for Current and HiSave acc with ICICI.
1. Money transfer from HiSave to Curr A/C is instanteneous, unlike other bank linked current account where it takes 3-4 days.
2. For Money transfer to India, It takes 1-2 working days. For 1 day - instanteneous transfer, it charges £1 to 5 depending on amount of transfer. For 2 days tranfer, it is free for > £500
3. There is no option of pulling money from Kaupthing Edge.
4. I am entering the sort code which is same as mentioned in the email sent to me with account details.0
