I'm not going to get upset by this as mbna have certainly changed their tune since yesterday's upsetting conversation when I spoke to my foul account manager who said the debt was soon to be passed over to a dca...today they are potentially putting a charge on my property....aaaaggghh!"happiness is...positive cashflow!":j0

There is no such thing as an account manager (or an interest rate manager as some others like to calll themselves) - just phone monkeys - about 2,500 of them - most with no intelligence whatsoever (hence why they read the script and refer to themselves as "account managers")
I think the last post is evident of the above - first, we are selling your account to a dca, then we are getting a charging order (i am pretty sure that mbna have never done this (dca might have done) - could be wrong though. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.
Proud to be a Friend of Niddy.
no idea what my nerdnumber is - i am now officially nerd 229, no idea on my debt free date0 -
I've just spoken to the lovely Geoff at CCCS who told me not to panic about MBNA's letter...he said that these kinds of letters are standard threatening stuff to frighten people into paying them more money. Roll on my cccs appointment next week!"happiness is...positive cashflow!":j0

today I had a phone call at work from Amanda Rimmer from 'Sandfield Health' with an 01244 phone number (a Chester STD code).I have spoken to the 'lovely' Amanda Rimmer before as she's from MBNA and I think they are based in Chester..is Sandfield near Chester? If so, why the need for Amanda to create such a pathetic lie?"happiness is...positive cashflow!":j0

Hi, I too am having probs with MBNA, mine is with the gorgeous Matt, Head of Customer Services. I've got a similar thread going however, mine is because 'Matt' does not read the letters which I send him  , and I want to send a letter to his boss. Had some helpful replies so far, but I can't put my opinion on here what I think of MBNA cos I'd be barred for life!.
Good luck and hope it all works out well for you xxOpinions are like bottom holes, we all have one

mbna are completely stup!d, i have a card with them and OH does - we are on dmplan and the card balances are similar etc, payments per month are similar and yet mine has been accepted over the last 12 months on a re-structured payment plan and i have just had letter saying along lines of "...all arrears are up to date...good payment history blah blah passed on to credit ref agencies...." yet OH's despite being ran EXACTLY the same and people on end of phone saying all is fine blah blah we keep getting letters from them saying going to DCA !! when i ring up they say a payment restructure is set up?? so dont think these people know what they are doing to be honest!! mbna seem to bamboozle everyone!
chin up
dont let them get u down xx

Hi
I am on a DMP with CCCS and MBNA have stopped interest on our account so there may be light at the end of the tunnel. I was told they were the worst to deal with but I havent heard from them and they seem to have inadvertently helped us in some way. I was told if they pass to a DCA interest and charges will stop so if they want to pass it on thats fine by me.
Dont let them grind you down - CCCS give good information, stick with them and you'll be ok!
Dont feel sad or dreadful there is no need, they are just another finance company trying to make a profit and then on to the next person....
Big hug

hi all
before my mbna cards went to DCA wescot, they sent F&F settlements of £1700 for £4,500 debt. i would try not to worry too much about mbna, they are an american company, and in my experience, are one of the worst to deal with when you have problems. even when i had my CCCS dmp i had to set up a DD for an account they held which didnt go to wescot. i would say that once your with CCCS all will come good. im not currently on my plan as ive mortgage arrears so gotta clear these first.
good luck0 -
MBNA are based just outside Chester in a business park, IIRC its on the A483 to Wrexham. Don't think that there's any place called Sandfield near there.
Good luck and wishing you the best.Always another chapter0 -
mbna are still calling me at work despite me requesting that they DO NOT! now their approach has changed...this morning 'barry' called me at work and tried to sound like a friend of mine.....he didn't announce where he was from just said "we were just talking on the phone together...." WHAT?!
i spoke to him explained about the cccs, how the figures and my circumstances haven't changed etc etc yet he still asked me for payment!!!!
he didn't have my cccs paperwork even though i spoke to another 'account manager' a few days ago who had it in front of her!
and then to top it all...HE put the phone down on ME....pathetic!"happiness is...positive cashflow!":j0
